Poloniex made a mistake closing down troll box?

Why is it closed? Too much FUD? But there are nice people giving good advice too. I don't feel that shutting it down is the ideal way to controlling it.

Part of me feels like Polo might have just sorted their support problem by shutting down the troll box, but not in the way they might think. Surely users will start using exchanges with a troll box as lets face it, a LOT of people post in there and it tends to keep people on the website longer?

Genuinely hope they activate it again but time will tell.

Trollers will find a way to troll and probably they will move to yobit, there is a 'trollbox' too known as chat but there is much less activity compared to poloniex which was full of texts. The issue in poloniex is that they are having many problems with their users during the past months because of the high number of users and the activity has been increased too much.

Yeah, that was a mistake from their side, but I think they are smart and they will bring it back soon. Active community, trolls or not, is very important to make people want to spend time on a site.

They should take a look at this thread where large majority of posts show regret that trollbox is gone.

This was a good on going debate here so we can't really say that they closed the troll box for good because for other users it is important, they can ask advise about what coins will be pumped or dumped?

trollbox scrolled so fast you couldn't even read it most of the time -- maybe they are working to upgrade it & make it more functional, something similar to how BTCe did by limiting access in some fashion during peak periods, or maybe they tried that already -- I didn't use it much just popped in every now and then & got the impression it was way overloaded, ie unmanageable

This was exactly the issue I've experienced. It was almost impossible to read messages for fun and I can't think myself as a Polo moderator. I'd be pulling my hair handling such large volume of users.

I also think someone has managed to create a trollbox bot as I was seeing same message by random user at certain day.

You're kidding right ? Polo isn't fast neither everything works fine.
It has been ddos the past few weeks and many of us lost of thousand of dollars because of the dump following.
Since 3 month, they havn't been able to fix the huge load of person signing and it has been laggy has hell (usually more than 30s to set an order)

I think it is one of the most welcoming decisions they have taken in a long time it is filled with FUD and recently it has become a complaint box because they could not keep up with the complaints they are getting on a daily basis and may be that is the reason they closed down the troll box,other than that there is no other reason.

I think Polo came up with the decision to close it down after reviewing the heavy traffic issue they were going through recently and figured it is after all a waste pipe. I really do not see it coming up again and I doubt that is one of the key reasons people use Polo.

A lot of people enjoyed the trollbox but I do think with the increased number of users it became more and more unreadable due to too many messages.

The reason people use Polo is for the liquidity and until that changes trollbox or not they will do just fine.

Poloniex made a mistake closing down troll box? i was thinking that it was a mistake earlier until what happened to me 2 days ago, poloniex removed the chat box in order to cover their scams intention.

People can tell others on the chat box when their funds were not credited or withdrawn fro their accounts as requested by the owner of the funds.

Yes you have a point, it is where the users interacts their thoughts to what is happening even it is real or not.

Maybe they shut it down because of lags that occur because more than 40k users is using poloniex now and with that numbers they must create at least multiple chat channels or even language barriers to restrict the floods.

I hope they will fix them and make it comeback soon or else there will be a negative comments will continue with that issue.

I do not expect them to come around some especially with what happened to my transaction 2 days back, i will advise that people should give poloniex some breathing space and allow them to solve their problems before doing any business with them.

The Poloniex trollbox was a pretty cool place, it’s kind of sad to see that they can no longer moderate the trollbox when Poloniex gets a bunch of money from various people using their website to exchange their Bitcoins for Altcoins.

If the people that use Poloniex learn that the trollbox moved to Slack then I am pretty sure that those people will find another place where they can share their trading and news information.

At this point if you're still using Polo after all the claims of frozen funds and frozen accounts then you deserve to be goxxed. Polo is without a doubt a ponzi exchange. If you make too much profit on there they will freeze your account and cite "compliance" as the reason for the freeze despite you having a verified account or not. The problem is that they don't deal in fiat and thereby have NO legal compliance or precedent to freeze cryptocurrency.. it's all smoke and mirrors. They won't answer your e-mails or requests to unfreeze. The minute your funds enter Polo they belong to Polo and they can do with it what they want.

The trollbox was closed because they were getting called out about this nonstop. People complain about exchange theft but don't listen to the prior warnings. I suppose the crypto community needs another MintPal or Mt. Gox to remind them of this.

if it was it would effect a lot of coins and prices, it is still a leading volume trader for some coins, i don't use it much now, i prefer other exchanges, but if it is a ponzi it would fuck the system up.

Its not going to fuck the system up its those users who stores tokens there who will be fucked up.  But I doubt they'd turned crypsy soon. Their exchange justbearn so much a day, they would rather fix the problem than going to be replaced by bittrex. Its a disappointment if yobit rules in the future.
