I forsee miners reverting to the prvious crop of alts today seeing as it's now a coin per hour. Reason being, those coins have ok difficulties from 2(USCOIN) to 7(WDC) and 4 (GLD) 4 (ELC) i think, and because it's not orphan city there unlike these new craps.

I think i'll go help out with UScoin, since it hasnt been listed on cryptsy, i can help with the difficulty retarget and rake in a few thousand, though people may accuse me of 51% ing it. I like it, it's like Phenix with less premine.

Ever more radical would be if miners reverted all the way back to BTC, I hear that coin is actually worth quite a bit.

Its time to get selective on what you spend your hashes.

explain why.

the only reason i can see any diff between coins values right now is that people dont understand the concept of elasticity, fungibility and arbitrage.

with ASICs every coin will be affected. need some RYC? mine btc on your Vapourware-X5 BFL, convert it to RYC for 1% on the xchg, voila. They're all equivalent now.

The only concern is being the one holding the bag when the coins blockchains collapse faster than you can convert them into something else.

actually some coins are trying to turn this around by trying to have solid ways to spend them. if you look at sexcoin, if properly implemented, it could easily be the medium for adult content, most sites complain that thier users only want the free stuff, so if sites start accepting it instead, and it gets listed, they stand to gain a lot. Phenix is for Gambling, UScoin is opting as high volume medium, we'll see when the difficulty retargets.

well, fees for payment services for adult sites tend to be a LOT higher than they are for most other types of business. Some kind of high risk thing or something. So I can see how they might benefit from something like sexcoin, but I could also see how they might benefit from something like bitcoin too, and it is already well established(sorta kinda?).

Sad plus sexcoin(because of the name) could limit its portability to other markets. I think porn people are looking to do more with their money than just buy porn.

true bitcoin is established, but by following that rule, i could say paper money is established. the sexcoin name can be changed anytime, its like porn, it was porn until someone marketed it as "adult content". Branding is a small issue, the question is, is the creator of sexcoin willing to pay the right people to make the right people pay attention?

Bitcoin does have an advantage over paper money though, it can be transmitted electronically Smiley The disadvantage is the confirmation time and poor acceptance compared to cash(which anyone will take)
