In new research reported by Russia Today, the provider said it had unearthed two Russian hacker groups which were hijacking machines to mine Monero and Zcash, among other cryptocurrencies.

The hackers controlled one batch of 4000, and another of 5000 computers.

This has been done before in PCs and mobiles, that's one of the reason why most of the miners are flagged by antivirus engines.

Good for them, it is nice to see a group taking interest in hobby. It is irrelvant either way. People are going to do what they are going to do and there is no changing that. Hackers are not going to change the crypto world in any direction other that for the better. It is that simple.

They can't make negative effect on crypto coin world anyway. The total number of computers are much higher than 9k computers, then it's only a normal hacking malware attemp to those computers.

I think I have a bad issue with malware. one day when I install a walle from cheap unpolular coin, I detect malware after that I lost my eth balance. That was suck. After that I will never download and install any wallet from unknown and new developers. I prefer to use wallet in the exchanger instead installing on my PC.

Never try to download the suspicious thing, Those fucking hackers just try to beggar to the computer owners like putted the malware to the victim's computer or dekstop.
Just just spread that through the fake link or something else such as fool another person to use its software.

I've had this done to me and it's pretty easy to notice, it's usually not gonna use the full power, but definitely enough to notice a difference, after that you just go into task manager and find the one with a weird name.

it's a problem since "CPU-coins" are a thing...

in the mid 2000's you could buy "installs" in hacker markets to have your malware on hacked computers around the world.

nowadays these hackers don't sell "installs", they simply install their cpu-miners on their victims. nothing new.

this kinda killed the hopes & chances of cpu-miners.
