Alright, so BTC has a stable value around 100 bucks. Your friend approaches you and says he wants to buy some bitcoins. You tell him to whip out a 100 dollar bill and you send him one bitcoin. From a psychological point of view, he's getting one of something for 100 bucks. I think that kinda sucks and he won't like it much. If you were selling him 1000 mBTC, so he would be getting 10 mBTC for one dollar, that is from a psychological standpoint a better trade for him.

Just saying that I shitched to thinking in mBTC, I changed the view on my electrum wallet and I like it. Now I'm not getting 0.4 BTC for mining but 400 mBTC. On the other hand the new Trezor cost me 1000 mBTC which I paid less hapilly then "just" one BTC.

I'm from Czech republic and one mBTC is worth 2 CZK, so it's much nicer then saying hey give me 2000 CZK for one bitcoin.

This is all psychological of course but I just like buying humble bundle 50 mBTC rather then for 0.05 BTC

Enough of this rant. Tell me why haven't you switched your wallet to mBTC yet.

..why haven't you switched your wallet to mBTC yet?

Because its un-American.  You see, in America(fuk yeah), we have this saying, "First come, First Served"
Same reason we reject the Metric system - yes, it makes a lot more sense for every reason, but is clearly un-American and communist. We value brand and status over utility.

un-American and communist? so you are saying that rest of the world is communist, right? this is wierd especially if you consider that even russia is more democratic than usa today.

but more on topic XBT maybe would be better solution. it is equal to micro BTC but also is an ISO name. And does not require Americans to think.

I see it a little different as Democracy being dangerously compatible and possibly enabling communism in some jurisdictions.

besides, I was only calling the metric system communist.
and being entirely cynical/goofy, so.

And yes, for most americans, the rest of the world is communist.

Wanna buy a castle? Think in kBTC.
Wanna buy a computer? Think in BTC.
Wanna buy a bubble gum? Think in mBTC.

That's it, stop complaining, stop trying to convince people YOU are right.

I'm saying it's a psychological difference. Only an idiot could say that psychology has no importance.

Your micro-propaganda is disturbing. Next thing you'll say is there's a unit called say, let's pick an absurd phantasy name, Ångström.

What the hell is Ångström? Is this some Scandinavian god?
If you like it so much, then create it, define it, and make our units stupidly fight until the Sun explodes

You are right, it has some influence.
Currently it's influencing people not to buy into Bitcoin and if they do - to spend Bitcoins more easily.
Will be difficult to change the commonly used unit though.

Excellent. We should have big arena fights and trainer badges and clinics where your units can recuperate from fights. Any maybe one could put them into little balls to carry them around in.

Great!
This may have some audience.
We would need several units though. Adding hundreds of new units each year would be fun too!

GO, MICROMETERMAN!

Unfortunately there are tons of retards out there who actually state "it's crazy to pay almost €100 for just one virtual coin!" yet they would have no problem paying 10 cents for a milliBit, which is still potentially one 21 billionth of the future online economy.

Seriously, I've heard people say "Bitcoin is not interesting anymore, if I pay a few hundred euros I get just a few coins". Somehow they have trouble with the actual, absolute number of coins they have, rather than the value it represents. People just don't get it.
