Hi,

I am new to mining so I decide to by and configure an Rx 570 into my existing Dell server : https://ibb.co/eB92qS
But I am noticing that its mining at half speed, not only for etherium but all algs.

This is an Dell Rx 570 video board with 4 gb sansung :
https://ibb.co/d8nDVS
https://ibb.co/iyzGjn

I read everywhere that this board should get etherium arround 25mhz on standard configuration, but I am getting arround 16mhz even with overclock : https://ibb.co/dRTWH7

I already tried :
- Windows 7 with the all last updates.
- Video AMD drive at 18.3.3 : radeon-software-adrenalin-18.3.3-minimalsetup-180319_64bit
- BlockChain driver didnt work on my windows 7, I dont think its working since I saw several other guys with problem with this on win7.
- There is no option to select compute mode on this driver.

I know some ask me to update to win 10, but I really hate that idea in a way that I may sell this card and go for nvidea, so do anyone have any tips or solution Huh?

Regards,
wagfeliz

Hi there could be several reasons why your not getting the hashrate you should expect to be getting, one of the biggest causes would be drivers like you have already pointed out, I would try 17. . . and see how that goes or even older ones.

Another thing is changing the compute mode but as you said you don't have that option, it really should be there so try looking once you have different drivers installed. Also make sure you FULLY remove old drivers using a tool like DDU http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html this will remove all traces of old drivers as that could be causing conflicts.

Another option would be using a custom bios flash for improved performance.

Was your GPU new? I bought used RX480 8gb and was expecting 29+ MH/s but it was only pulling just over 16 MH/s and then kept crashing...turns out the GPU was faulty Sad

Other then that as you have already been advised you would have to upgrade to win10 to achieve full potential of your GPU, I hope this helps a little Smiley

There is no way to mine Ethereum on Windows 7 and achieve 29-30MH/s hashrates with RX series GPUs anymore, at least not with the most recent drivers from AMD.  In Win 7 the blockchain driver does not work, and in the latest driver, the required Compute mode is disabled or not available.
There was a rumour about a modifed driver.  Do a google search on Robin Hood on Win 7 and see what it comes up with.
Other than that you should be able to mine other Ethash coins like Expanse, Pirl and Musicoin and be able to hit 29 MH/s on Win 7with RX 470/570.
The reason for this is their relatively smaller DAG files compared to Ethereum.
However, you may have to change the memory timings of your GPU by modding its BIOS.  Several tutorials on this exist on the net.

Fellow miners, get your thens and thans in order and help other forum readers understand what you are writing. Remember the grammar basics:  B larger THAN A (comparator operator). If something THEN ....

With Windows 7 the official AMD blockchain drivers are broken. The only blockchain drivers reported to work on Windows 7 are the Robinhood drivers.

I already tried to remove the driver with this removal tool and use an old one, actually the recomended drive from dell is the version 16.6, I will try the version 17 also. The board is not new, I bouth it used but it have some garantee from the vendor, so there are any way to know if this have an problem ? Its working fine, just the speed seems slow. I have several stuff in this server, I want to have sure on what is going on before upgrading to win 10.

I tried out the robinh00d blockchain driver for windows 7, it worked fine, it increase the speed for eth from 16mhz to 23mhz.
I also tried to install win 10, it also get the 23mhz, I guess amd decide to fup the win 7 users then...

For who that still wants to use the robinh00d drivers, you will need to restart the computer twice, once you install the driver, then the second after you apply the patch, all of those you can download from the linked post.

Thank you all for the information !
