It will just become a simple alt coin that will be traded with smaller fractions by day traders. It was popular before because a lot of support is from majority of the bitcoin core miners. And now because of the cancellation, many did jumped off and get back to alt coin, bitcoin cash and other coins that are profitable to them. It may have a price but it's value will not be the same as bitcoin, so if you are into supporting B2x so say hello to another shite* coin out there.

Very interesting statement. And what to do in this case to all of us, ordinary investors? I'm very interested in how this will end, but I do not want to risk my money.

There are so many conflicting information about this fork. There are articles saying that is cancelled, others saying it is suspended, and now this. Does anyone really know what is going on?  Huh

There's no free coin, if I'm not mistaken that is final that there will be no more B2x as it has been on the news with different crypto news website. Whomever is behind this does really want to push his B2x futures and maybe he bought a lot of it.

Yes, majority of the articles are saying that it is cancelled and to be more accurate let's wait for a day or two to get some more reliable source.

Well, they plan on running the btc1 software, which copies the UTXO set from Bitcoin. So yes, you get the free coins. However, there will not be replay protection (which has been repeated ad nauseum). So be very careful trying to recover the B2X.

Since the fork was called off by the bigger companies, there is much less demand for coin splitting services, since most people expect the fork to be a non-event now. That's bad news for newbies trying to get their "free money."

This is ridiculous, really. So many different streams and groups within the Bitcoin community this can't be good. That is why I always say that not the banks or governments will destroy Bitcoin, this can only happen because of the community itself. This should be solved somehow before some biger damage is done, not just this mass confusion with the forks.

Simply because it is irrelevant?

It's quite impressive that a single entity controls 30% of the entire network hashing power, but stats don't lie and as of late, the total support for B2X is 15%, far from their actual claim. They could push through with their plan. But the million dollar question is, would people actually believe it again after the 'cancellation' they've made before?

As long as consensus isn't reach (which I highly doubt again in this case), no fork will happen.

why?

some one can just run 2x if they want, mod out the % consensus reqs or similar

The problem remained unsolved. And this suggests that this issue will soon emerge. I think that soon we will dream about B2X

Why BTC need fork? I think BTC no need to fork... so many altcoin are created after bitcoin, they are a child of bitcoin too.

Is it really true? The mentioned website looks like the clone of official bitcoin.org website lol.If they are really doing it at least have and original website.  Roll Eyes

Yup its true , a group under name bitpico is behind this. they claim to control 30% hashing power

https://news.bitcoin.com/bitpico-claims-segwit2x-still-alive-despite-evidence-contrary/

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/mysterious-group-bitpico-threatens-to-execute-segwit2x-hard-fork/

Craziest thing in what you wrote is that they 'claim' and people are actually still scared. You'd think that just saying that someone is making such a BS statement like that would toss up some red flags. I could also claim I own a million Bitcoins and that I'm just chilling here, good thing that's just a CLAIM.

B2X is dead, this is some BS by people who are trying to drive up the futures on HitBtc. So Rest in Peace futures buying on hitbtc, sucks to suck.
