A recurring theme here is "I have a GPU card, gtx-1070", I want to mine, ... how much do I make? Where do I mine
Let's take the proverbial rhetorical 'how to here', how do I mine with my gtx-1070
Ok, lets see ..
gtx-1070 cost $600 USD
A cpu, 4gb memory, and modern mobo, how about a btc-12 ( $100 )
You need at least a 750CM power supply and buy lots of them as you grow, cheap about $100 each, throw away that 450w cheap $10 pwr supply that comes in your pc-box
So now U have invested your $1,000 USD and ready to mine,
Ok, what to mine? Well U go to 'whattomine.com' and see what is most profitable for your one little lonely gtx-1070, well today it says your 430 sols/sec ( assuming u don't know how to optimize your gpu ), will get u $1.50 on zencash/zcash, sure u can mine bitcoin-z, but its a zero worth shit-coin, probably never go up, ethereum classic looking good, but only short-term, it will go back down, so zencash is the best option, again $1.50 day
Then you go to zen.suprnova.cc ( best MINING-POOL for equihash ), they'll tell u what to download for your miner sw for your system ( hope your using linux ),
Run your miner, let it rip, $1.50 day, but your power bill will be north of 0.50 so you will net $1/day, how long to pay for your hardware?? About 3 years,
After 3 years u might still make a $1/day, probably not by then your HW will be so obsolete will not even see 0.01 per day, then its time to unplug, cuz your not paying for your electricity.
Good luck, enjoy the hobby.
***
Ahh, say U want to mine that NEW BTG and get rich, ... ok let's see right now testnet for btg.suprnova.cc is 800k Mega sol/s sec, so your take will be ...
4.644e-05 ( 24*60*60*430/(1e6*800*1e3) )
per day, so you will get about 1/10000 of a BTG per day, which means less than a penny a day profit, not likely to pay for power

Your are wrong my friend....
Mining is not profitable for only running 1 GPU.... this business model is for working +10 GPU and up....
1 GPU (GTX1070) RIG, cost around 1000 $ (included PSU) and make around 430 sols
your cost will be 130W (GPU) + 90W (System) , Total 220W.... and your revenue 30$ / month.... so your ROI will be 33,33 months
---------------------
12 GPU (Vega56) RIG, cost around 6500 $ (included PSU) , and make around 22800 H/s
your cost will be 2160 W (GPUs) + 90W (System), Total 2250W... and your revenue 1350$ / month ... so your ROI will be 4,81 months

1x Gpu is still profitable. I have a new rig im adding to my collection of other rigs i have , and that solo rx 580 8gb makes around 56$ - 58$ per month. Which is still something

I think for gamers it is a matter of earning money out of existing hardware. Kind of like, might as well. You can choose to either let it sit there or have it working and generating passive income.

and your prices on gpus are WAY out of wack, I can get a evga NVidia gtx 1070 8gb for way less than 1000, if your paying that much you are getting ripped the fuck off same with you mentioning 1000 for a 1080 ti? come on dude that's at best 750 dollars, get your prices right man matter of fact newegg.com has the evga NVidia gtx 1070 8gb Super clocked for just around 439! your WAY the fuck off link for evga NVidia gtx 1070 8gb https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487265&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=evga_1070-_-14-487-265-_-Productno where near 600 as you say, and now for a link to one of the evga 1080ti's which again is no where near 1000 dollars as you have said, https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487376&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=evga_1080ti-_-14-487-376-_-Productbtw highest cost for 1080ti from evga is around 819.99 lowest was 749.99, sold and shipped by newegg.com where ever you are getting gpu's from you should stop as you are getting ripped off

Turn $1k into $1/day is great profit, how can you say its not? The point my friend, is the bots generate a dozen of these 'how do I mine with one card questions per day", I just thought to present it from a different point of view, Of course I concur, you must invest in rigs, my cost is about $1,000 per rig, and they pay about $15/day, with $3/day costs, so its about 3 month payback per rig, $12/day per rig is about $350/month, where I live that's twice the per diem wage, My point was that its NOT worth your time to mine one card, I'm glad u agree *** Your rig cost is $7k, my rig cost is $1k, my limitation is about 2kh on a 24 clock, above that the electric authority's put me in next tier, don't want to go there, I see about 500 watts per rig, 4 rigs is my optimum for about 8k sols/sec, I can buy 1060-3's cheap, the VEGA is astronomically expensive, $1500 each where I live, So your rig would cost me over $10k *** Remember we were talking about "MINING with ONE GPU here", right? Is it really true that your six vega-56 get 22k sols/sec are you talking equihash ? Personally I don't like AMD, quit using them years ago, I still have some laying around, but now I only buy nvidia, I prefer CUDA support for ML work, I prefer the CUDA library, I don't like AMD software for GPU coding

Where I live its $600 for a 1070, $1,000 was the price for a single-miner, assuming $400 for power-supply, cpu, mobo, box, and monitor you know system cost $400, and GPU card cost 600 = $1,000 The point was that a single card would only net you about $1.50/day Some people seem to think that people are getting rich doing this hobby. YEP I know about NEWEGG & AMAZON, I can buy the HW cheap, but the shipping & custom taxes are $500 on top of the price, I pretty much have to buy chinese clones where I live, not a problem, they're cheap and reliable, All this shit is made in ASIA any way, your not really getting much in USA, if I wanted a good price I just go to Hong-Kong and go shopping on the weekend Prices are pretty much same same 1060-3 $200 1060-6 $300 1070 $600 1080 $1,000 Fuck windows & amd Just wanted to clarify that they don't

Agree 100% the post was in reference to the 100 posts a day here entitled "How do I mine on one card" The answer as you point out is that you don't. Where I live $15/day is more than an electrician who works 12hrs/day makes, ... so having 1060-3 rigs works just fine for me, I suspect in USA, U need six Vega-56 to generate a decent return, your 20k sols/sec would make me $150/day, that would be an insane amount of money But for you it probably means nothing, When I travel in USA I find it costs $500/day to live like a pauper, where I live $5/day is a comfortable life. Again the point of the post was about using a CPU to mine with one card,

If your VGA card are higher price or electricty cost is over 0,20 cent kW/h , so your ROI will be higher but still profitable...... Mining with " 1 GPU" is not business.... this business model is for getting great scale.
