I cannot mine as I receive this error in BAMT "gpu0 has a fault" booting from BAMT on a USB drive.

It shoes a red screen. The card is a Radion HD5850 dual fan edition, and it mines at 375Mhs with cgiminer in Windows 7x64.

All I have done in the configuration is change disable to 0 and entered pool details as per the help file. Can anyone help please?

I am using a Dell Precision 490 Workstation, 90GB SSD, 1GB DDR2, BAMT OS.

Do you think there is a problem with the precision 490 motherboard being compatible with BAMT?or some other problem?

Thank you in advance.

So you are running BAMT stock (not even using cgminer), and you are getting this error?  Is your pool stratum (as I believe the old BAMT protocol is still getwork and thus your pool may not like that).

Hi, thank you for the reply. At this point I don't know enough about Linux or bamt to get cgiminer working on bamt.
The pools I'm using are stratum. So if your correct and bamt uses getwork, then I will need to work out how to use cgiminer on bamt instead.I'll look into it tomorrow and see if that resolves the red screen gpu0 fault. Thank you.

Never heard of a red screen problem before. Its probably a graphics card problem. Try replacing your card see if that fixes it.

Hi,

I replaced it with a Fire GL v7200 (all I had lying around) just to test this, and the same issue came up, red screen. Both cards work well under Windows 7 x64 using guiminer.

I am using a Dell Precision 490 workstation which has a non-standard shape size dell motherboard with 1x  Zeon processor (plus room for another) - could this be not ideal for BAMT?

I have done a PC memory test (memtest86) and video card stress test CE and both show good.

Any suggestions please?

Can you take a pic of the screen and post it?  I think I know what red screen you are talking about, and I think it leads back to stratum servers and you needing to update your cgminer and use that.
