i'm unable to install this update on my rigs, someone succeeded to do so? some hw incompatibility issue perhaps...

If you're running v1703 it should be compatible with the v1709 fall update. I would try the Microsoft media creation tool to create a bootable flash drive with the latest build and do a clean install.

i see that the trick is just to disconnect all the riser minus the x16 one, i was thinking that by doing this it would upgrade just fine, but i didn't tried yet...

ok i did it, it was indeed this problem, plugging more than one gpu with risers prevent the update
