Yeah, they could tell you that there's more than Bitcoin but let's just be honest without Bitcoin how could those developers will make it without a source from Bitcoin? These people are just like dogs barking to a computer when they can't do anything they just tend to bark and bark. Do you think people will allow Bitcoin to disappear just like that? Aren't they just trying to make a fud?
It's not "a FUD" for clarification, it's Fear, Uncertainty and/or Dissent iirc. It's just FUD.

The devs have enough experience now that they really don't need Bitcoin if they want to go somewhere else, hell you can see it with the ICO devs. Most of them have gone through half a dozen coins at least by now, I would be surprised if they didn't have some sort of inkling of expanding their scope and looking for the free money that is ICO production and release.

There's a lot of people that exist on this forum now to spread FUD, it's pretty obvious at this point, but there's still a lot of new people who are susceptible to it. There needs to be a bit more effort across the board to get more aggressive against the FUD being circulated, but for now, people seem to be wise enough to ignore it in most circumstances.

You're right, I've been experiencing the same thing and not only here.
Yesterday, I was watching a replay of a news broadcast that included a interview regarding Bitcoin. The comments on the video where all about Ripple being the best crypto currency because it had the biggest price increase or people claiming that VeChain is a much better crypto-currency than Bitcoin (Without any arguments). For me these two were the most remarkable, as the first one doesn't have to-do anything with the currency itself and second one is just so wrong because VeChain isn't really a crypto currency but rather a platform.

I'm seeing more and more new people to crypto parroting the mantra that Bitcoin is old tech and needs to die.

Yes btc is to some extent old tech and yes there are faster, cheaper blockchains. But newbies and even some veterans need to be careful cause if enough people think something then it tends to be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Problems that come with taking btc away as root of cryto are really not known. I suggest to you nothing good will come from it and crypto needs btc as a solid reserve currency of sorts and most gains people have made in alts are due to btc rise. Take Bitcoin away from top slot and I think crypto becomes unstable. IMO.

As long as there are people who believes on bitcoin, then it has to continue its service to us. Other cryptocurrency or digital currency are nothing without bitcoin. If we are going to look at coinmarketcap.com, the prices or the change rate of other digital currencies are aline with what is happening to bitcoin. As of now bitcoin dictate the fate of others. It is true that if bitcoin got away with this, then there will be a huge problem for others. It is good to be ready since there are lots of people who wants bitcoin to vanished since it has the highest amount now, yet become lower as the time goes by. Maybe this is one of the reason why they do not want bitcoin all of a sudden.

The they are right and just because you slot machine players made money you will learn that you
can also loose it to so stop trying to get religious about it all

Mining is CPU-wars and Intel, AMD like it nearly as much as big oil likes miners wasting electricity. Is this what mankind has come too.

When I talk to people about the Bitcoin, they can only laugh: This currency that cost 10-15$ every transaction, takes 3-6 hours to transfer, it is backed by Miners that consume more electricity than our entire country, it has more inflation than fiat and if it is not enough, there's no one to protect you if you loose your private key or it get stolen.

I totally agree to this:

Crypto market was almost 1 Trillion 30 days

The reason the alts crashed is due to shitcoin being tied to it all

The exchanges all need to untie crypto to the failed shitcoin that Bitcoin is

Then crypto will prosper

The problem is bitcoin

I'm in shitcoin since $5 bucks

Cashed out $19k

We can keep waiting for the lightning network, believe that it will fix everything, but really the hard reality that the Bitcoin technology is not designed to scale will one day be impossible to hide.

At the opposite there's new technology that learned from Bitcoin and that fix all its issues.

When I talk about RaiBlocks : 0 fee, 0 inflation, instant transaction, faster than VISA, almost unlimited scalability, green and as much decentralized as Bitcoin. That's something that can attract people to Crypto.

this is just like their parents giving birth to them after that they choose to disregard their parents. these altcoins emerge because of bitcoin and bitcoin can be considered as foundation/leader in cryptocurrency.

They are new to this so that's not surprising at all. They don't know that Bitcoin suffered worse than this that we are experiencing at this moment. Bitcoin's market value before is way lower than its current price. Also, they are not awared that this is jist a part of its volatility in the market. Bitcoin has a bright future and they should know that. They will surely see it later when its market value starts to increase afyer a couple of weeks. We just need to patiently wait for it.

I think it does not matter, because they do not know and do not understand the crypto world. I often get a reprimand from my family that bitcoin is bad and will only make me lose money, the point is  bitcoin is a scam.
I never listen to my family, because I understand that they do not understand the crypto world.
so to deal with such a person, we'd better close our ears. say to them, yes bitcoin will die, if it has reached the price of lamborghini. and that's for sure.

I completely agree. Yes, there can be altcoins that are superior in terms of technology, and that's true. Technology evolves all the time, and cryptocurrencies are no different. But ask yourself, is something like smart contracts really going to be used on a day to day basis? Or are you more likely to be using bitcoin to pay for some goods online directly?

Bitcoin has been proven to be a store of value. This is one of the most celebrated properties of "money". Altcoins are usually just hyped up clones of one another that really add no value to the economy whatsoever.

Bitcoin will always be considered the #1 cryptocurrency, because it is the first to be here, the only one without a known developer that it's benefiting for, and the only one that has proven that it has the ability to steadily hold its value and even realise potential value for 10 years straight.

I don't think its FUD or just alt coins pumpers I speak to people in communities they genuinely express the idea BTC is old and needs to die.

And we can't dissmis their view cause many of these newbies are the future crypto community. I think BTC needs to become like the dollar is, a reserve currency where only central banks and super rich hold it. Then the crypto world can do have as many other alts as it wants but Crypto needs BTC as a cornerstone IMO.

Every beginner must have an opinion for every new thing and their opinion is very different from what is known next, as Crypto is never stable even bitcoin is on top but somehow every thing is to order if BTC gets most of the dominance in market. You can not blame others for saying those words, because it's only normal for us to make some comments about what we say ..
