Hello fellow noob. You should also take a look into LTC as well, since that one is looking ready to rise due to an MTGOX announcement and such.

I should say that at the moment BTC is looking like its on a downward movement so I would be a tad bit more patient on getting some.

If you are trying to be a day trader and like being risky you should try some of the alt currencies they are pretty interesting as well.

Yea I landed in the right place. I was just clearing out my watched list and noticed this blast from the past:

It's so precious to see youth so innocent and precious, before dealing with the harsh twists and turns that life brings.

Hello and welcome! I recommend that you pay attention to the Ripple project. The most interesting thing about the Ripple project is its technologies, in which both world banks and payment systems are interested. In fact, the project is trying (and has all chances) to become a direct competitor to SWIFT, Western Union, MoneyGram and so on due to greater openness, cheapness, speed and convenience.

I did, but it's not easy to hold. Went through the big run up to 1k. Fell down with it to the hundreds, left it alone, came back to the rises last year, and fell back with it again. Take it from me, don't daytrade kiddos.
