Does anyone see something like that?

1. Some forum member PMs you with claiming "I sent you some XXXcoin, please send me equivalent in YYYcoin"
2. You don't understand what happens
3. This forum member tells you "we decided to trade, don't you remember?"
4. See p.2
5. This forum member sends you screenshot from another forum (i.e. bitsharetalk) where someone with the same nick as yours offers trading, saying "my nick is the same as on bitcointalk, I don't want to post, only to trade"
6. You are messed up - who is scammer?

I got into this situation and want to warn community!
If any 'newbie member' on any forum with the same nick existing on bitcointalk (full, senior, etc) says that he wants to trade with you - please ask him to send these messages via bitcointalk. Otherwise you can been scammed.

My reputation here is clean, I created several giveaways, traded with forum members, etc. So imagine that not me, but i.e. someone with nick "SunnyKing" registers on another forum and wants to trade with you. Don't allow scammers to use you!

Thanks I also found a (too obvious) scammer there (bitsharetalk.org) using the same approach.

People be warned.

Just PM me if any of you ever need an escrow. I only have iGotSpots on this forum, so if you see it anywhere else except here, Cryptsy, or WorkForCrypto, it's not me. I will always do escrow for anyone with no fees. Sick of seeing people get fucked over

Cool, thanks!  I wanted to see if my name was being dragged through the mud, but I don't see any posts.  I'm not a member on that forum if anyone cares/ gets a message from "me"

When Goldcoin was fairly new - I expressed an interest in Goldcoin and offered some support on one of their 1st forums.

Anyway, I recently re-registered on the current forum and began to discuss with Microguy about my XAUUSD FX trading.

I later discovered the following post regarding ' Goldcoin on Wikipedia ' See: https://www.gldtalk.org/index.php?topic=690.msg3784#msg3784

The Goldcoin page looks great. Nice job.  Cheesy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goldcoin
However, apparently it has been marked for deletion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Goldcoin

Somebody marked it for deletion and this is his reason.

''Borderline G11. Seeking consensus or someone who may want to do a large overhaul on the article. Article is nearly entirely press release, mission statement type facts and really doesn't establish notability. Secondary sources seems incidental and in my opinion not enough to create a credible article. May also be a veiled attempt to promote crytocurrency exchance, particularly considering that page author's name is BitcoinFX. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:07, 29 October 2013 (UTC)''

Clearly members of this community have used my bitcointalk.org handle to post their own wiki entries. I have never submitted anything to any wiki on behalf of the Goldcoin community or otherwise.

I posted about this in the thread and politely asked why? Anyway, my posts were deleted twice regarding this issue and my user account has now been 'banned'.

Not exactly a scam, although apparently just a coincidence according to Microguy and AZIZ1977

Someone used your username so it is a scam/fraud or however you want to call it.

Ah you got modded from the gld thread.

Yep.

This "nut" was sent three apologies about the wiki username problem. Anyone that knows Aziz knows he's a straight shooter.

Aziz was trying to help Goldcoin so he made a wikipage. He was searching for handles and found the FX name available on Wikipedia. At the time, he didn't associate that username with anyone from bitcointalk. Then when this conflict was pointed out to us, I sent FX two apologizes and aziz sent him an apology promising never to use the wikipedia handle again. Apparently that wasn't good enough and he decided to repost a previously moderated comment with the same lame complaint as though it hadn't been already handled internally.

I personally had never heard of this guy but I'm only here since June 2013.  Tongue

Thanks for the insight MicroGuy it always interesting the way these things play out, as you handled it internally I thank you for taking time to post here again.

I will make reference to the original gldcoin forum thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=205789.msg2414861#msg2414861

Which clearly demonstrates that Microguy and AZIZ1977 were well aware of my username here on bitcointalk.org

The folks at Wikipedia have already identified these actions as ' sock puppetry '.

I offered my help and support at one time, but I will have nothing further to do with Goldcoin. Good luck.
