I am trying to learn about what makes a trading bot successful and the different methods people use to signal trades in their bots. If you have one I could examine or know where I could find some that would be awesome. Thanks!

the closed source bots, you can see what options they have in their topics:
C.A.T: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.0
GUNBOT: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1715214.0

open source bots:
Gekko: https://github.com/askmike/gekko
there is a lot more on GitHub but i have never checked anything else apart from Gekko but you can use the search function to find them: https://github.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=crypto+trading+bot&type=
in any case these 3 are the most famous ones as far as i know and that should be enough to give you an idea about what others bots are doing.
