they are pretty fucking corrupt. outside of racial profiling and treating minorities like shit, they go to lengths to cover up all the seedy shit that happens there (look at the dorner case for example). there are lot of cops who use their position to bully businesses to make money for themselves too.

You take the example of a few police officers, and use it to represent the 99% that are kind, helpful, and just want to help people, not piss on minorities,

you go ahead and think that there are "a few cases" of police misconduct and brutality. i hear stories all the time. you can be rosy about them if you like, but they are an institution that is more interested in protecting itself than the general public. we live in a state police society, and that's just the actual truth.

nowhere in the rest of the developed world are the police force more willing to pull the gun from the holster and shoot you down.

Only about 1.449% of cops ever cause any trouble (Police Brutality statistics)
Whereas 3.04 % face domestic violence. Therefore, police have less incidents than normal families do, and police are actually less violent than most families.

1.449% huh? i'm not surprised the number is so low, they are the ones who are in charge of "upholding" the law. of course there are good cops out there, but my natural position is not to trust them. brutality does not account for the underhanded dealing they do too.. it's a great gig to make yourself look good when you are part of legal enforcement.

i have no idea what the % of good cops are to bad cops, but i am certain there are lots of egotistical dicks who think they are above the law. more than any other developed country, americans live under a police state where they won't hesitate to empty their clips if they suspect that you even flinched.

Well, there are always going to be "egotistical dicks who think they are above the law", no matter where you go. Take DPR for example. And have you any evidence to support that police are involved in any unjust shootings, and that percentage is any higher than that of normal people.

why are you comparing an institution to people? i'd have to google it up, but the statistics show that in the U.S., the police force uses guns exponentially more than any other developed nation.

oh, and do you know the kind of racial profiling that ethnic minorities face? i'm guessing you are a white?

Let's play 100 questions with it, trying to guess the serial number. No prizes awarded in this game but, if it goes well, I'll pen a thread offering up a real game with a real bill with a no less than $20 USD prize payable via Bitcoin.

First question: Is there a 3 in the serial number? (answer all questions with a yes or no ONLY)

Id play that game!

What do you mean an institution? And yes I am white, but I would say most profiling is socioeconomic and not racial. The majority of people I work with are not white, but don't experience discrimination. Why? Because we dress nice, and don't walk around in hoodies at 3AM, or "wife-beaters".

This summer I was pulling out of my garage heading to work when I spotted to what I thought was a dollar bill in my lawn.  I pulled over and it was a freaking 20 dollar bill.   Woooo!  Amazing, since I have shitty vision.  Smiley

That 20 dollars went toward a rather large sushi bill that evening.  Thank you who ever lost that money, I plan on donating this holiday season to make up for it.   Wink

(my 20 dollar by the sidewalk story...)
