Google is the only company that could create the best Crypto Coin that will be used and backed by all governments.

They have the tech, they always build new things, and they always do everything better than other companies.

The future of virtual coins will be from Google.

What about Google Coin it sounds great.

Seriously, what is your problem OP?

We have a PERFECT working system here, with a crypto currency everyone trusts, buys, sells and is integrated in million of places? Why do people keep bringing up big tech companies, governments and all these "brands" as if only their stamp of approval would make Bitcoin work better?

Bitcoin is backed by MATH, there is nothing more sane and sound than that.

<helo> funny that this proposal grows the maximum block size to 8GB, and is seen as a compromise
<helo> oh, you don't like a 20x increase? well how about 8192x increase?
<JackH> lmao

We do need corporate backing to help us over the precipice of widespread acceptance versus the death of mainstream Bitcoin usage, ie only geeks like you and me are left using it.

Op, they don't need to create their own coin to make cryptocurrency viable. They could simply endorse Bitcoin. Providing companies their ad revenue in Bitcoins and charging in Bitcoins would be a fantastic way to get businesses involved in the currency, which would have the knock-on effect of increasing the likelihood of supply chain exchange of Bitcoin (which would have huge positive feedback implications).

If Google makes their own currency and payment system, it won't have to be a crypto-currency, they are a single entity, they can do transaction processing through a central database they control.

Google is a real-world entity which will underlie regulations in every state and country if they do that.

They'll compete with PayPal and WU, but they won't be able to undercut the efficiency and take away from certain benefits of peer-to-peer crypto-currencies.

the death of mainstream Bitcoin usage
More new people are joining every single day and this has been steadily going on for 4 years now and the rate of adoption is not slowing down. This is the exact opposite of "death".

Google may create its own currency, but the question is why would we want to use it and for what? We're trying to get away from huge corporations here, not work with them to make them more rich and powerful.

You see what Google and Facebook are doing, and you want them more involved?  Huh

We don't need to take over all commerce (that will the government's coin, a fiat), what we tech savvy need is our own coin that we can use to be anonymous when the NWO take down SHTF outcome hits before 2020.

Bitcoiners are thinking about the issues with a lack of depth of knowledge.

Google's Mike Hearn already created an Android Bitcoin client and has been pushing blacklisting, whitelisting, and pinklisting because of the lack of anonymity and the "coin taint" in Bitcoin, i.e. Bitcoin is headed towards the government coin.

What about Google Coin it sounds great.
Google already made an internal coin that they've been playing with the last couple of weeks -- within days, someone had written a script to steal other employees' coins. At some point one person had 95% of all the coins.

Is this really the stability you're looking for?

Google needs to just stick to searching. And heck, they can't even get that right half the time.
