There is a measure of truth to that.

Phones and Ipods / Ipads are a consumption tool/window utilized to distribute content from Itunes to its customers.

Wish they took bitcoin as payment.

No worries tho. Bitpay and others will process payments for now and maybe well into the future.

i have no idea when this cryptocurrency-game will start but i expect it during the next 5 years.

Big publishers, like apple, don't need crypto, they would see themselves as a trusted issuer, that makes things much easier for iMoney or whatever. Why give the power away to the miners if they can just hold the ledger on their servers?

If they complete their fully closed ecosystem, their own money would make sense of course. You could be an artist making music on your Mac in GarageBand selling on iTunes for iMoney then buying some generated iFood and paying iBills from your iPhone-operated iCar, ah the future, it's all about convinience Smiley
i didn't mean crypto similar to bitcoin. more like ripple. (premined, centralised network)
the interesting thing here is that companies could by this way get debt-free loans and at the same time "buy" (or secure) a part of their marketshare for the future.
it's like a stock exchange turned around towards the target group.
this theory has a lot of flaws but the endgoal for every global company is your mentioned fully closed environment at least in a technical aspect.
get the most dependance of a customer as you can and you can interconnect in every regard.
i know it depends on heavy tinfoil usage to think this development process through for the next decades in the future,
but i see a lot of first approaches atm.

perhaps i should stop reading that russian science-fiction.  Cheesy

IIRC Apple has a longstanding policy of not allowing any payment methods apart from their system on iOS. They want their cut. Or am I mistaken? (I'm told they allow Paypal, but that that's more of an exception) being total douchewads.

FTFY Smiley

Apple is shit, buy Android

+1

We have many Apple products, desktop and mobile. We will never buy anymore in this house.

Apple only ever confirms my conviction to never give them another red cent. They take douchebaggery to entirely new levels on a regular basis.

Just use the blockchain app if you want to transfer coins with ios.

Or get a phone from a manufacturer that doesn't tell you what you can and can't do with the hardware that you purchase.

There's no sane excuse for Apple's behaviour.

The only real disadvantage to android is all the spying,(and a determined individual can stop that due to androids semi open nature and root access) but with apple you can have the spying + so much more

-censorship
-sweatshops
-planned obsoleteness
-closed development
-"extreme douchbaggary"

Hey but atleast its hip, because we all need to look cool and different, even if that means we shell out a shitload of money for products that we aren't allowed to let do what we want.
