i have no idea when this cryptocurrency-game will start but i expect it during the next 5 years.
Big publishers, like apple, don't need crypto, they would see themselves as a trusted issuer, that makes things much easier for iMoney or whatever. Why give the power away to the miners if they can just hold the ledger on their servers?
If they complete their fully closed ecosystem, their own money would make sense of course. You could be an artist making music on your Mac in GarageBand selling on iTunes for iMoney then buying some generated iFood and paying iBills from your iPhone-operated iCar, ah the future, it's all about convinience
i didn't mean crypto similar to bitcoin. more like ripple. (premined, centralised network)
the interesting thing here is that companies could by this way get debt-free loans and at the same time "buy" (or secure) a part of their marketshare for the future.
it's like a stock exchange turned around towards the target group.
this theory has a lot of flaws but the endgoal for every global company is your mentioned fully closed environment at least in a technical aspect.
get the most dependance of a customer as you can and you can interconnect in every regard.
i know it depends on heavy tinfoil usage to think this development process through for the next decades in the future,
but i see a lot of first approaches atm.
perhaps i should stop reading that russian science-fiction.
