BofA's online banking and even in-branch services are completely down right now. I wonder how many people will realize the value in a P2P currency today?

They're working fine for me...

I'm not sure if it's a California (or even more granular outage) but two separate local branches are currently not operating due to downtime and I have been getting "We apologize, but Online Banking is operating slower than usual. We are working to restore full service as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience" online for the past hour or so.

Edit: I have the option to "Continue to Online Banking" at the error message, then the page https://sitekey.bankofamerica.com/sas/$$clickthru gives a wonky 404: Error 404: SRVE0190E: File not found: /$$clickthru

Confirmed, there was a California-wide outage. Tellers at two banks said they thought it was due to an attempted update this morning, so I'd hedge on that being the root of the issues today.

Oops, I was mistaken yet again. It was regional to Southern California only.

I have not seen any example yet of bitcoin being effected by an geo-political or geo-financial situation.

I don't expect one anytime soon either.
