7990 is the most powerful GPU in the world, hashrate or otherwise, not the best value however.

r290x is the most powerful single-die GPU, 290 comes in as a close second.

Best hashrate per dollar? That depends on what the prices are in your part of the world, probably a 270x or 6950...maybe even 5830s still...

That was kool image and thanks, but I wanted to see peoples personal opinions and what they were able to get out of each piece of hardware. sorry for not saying that upfront. Still new here.

I am using 7950, and it is most economical and powerful GPU. It runs 660 KH/s

$400 doesn't sound very economical for a 7950 tbh.

Pretty happy with Sapphire R9 290 doing 880kh/s. Cost around $500 if you snag them at the right time.

^^^ pretty neat, gotta love the amount of double and single precision compute on offer for that price Smiley

Oh awesome, I guess I made $100 on the 7950 I bought retail from newegg for $300 6 months ago.

Sarcasm aside, you do bring up a very good point; as a general rule, the amount of depreciation on all they decently powerful AMD gpus has been incredibly small.

***Just checked ebay....Looks like the sapphire toxic 6950's I bought used over a year ago have lost $0 in value. That also means that the 6950's probably aren't in the running for best value. I wouldn't be surprised if retail is currently the best plan for a decent deal.

OP: https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison Look at that if you haven't.

Another little tip: you can get within ten percent of your actual GPU powerdraw in watts with gpu-z, just multiply core voltage with the number of amps being drawn.

Lol... Wow... Just wow.  Nothing to contribute, but posts anyway.

If you don't have money at this point, you obviously haven't been around here for very long, or you just aren't smart enough to be invested.
