if someone told me 6 month ago that bitcoin would reach 1000$ before new year i would not belive them.
it is just amazing to see how far, we've come in 2013. So what do you think will happen in 2014? both price wise and adoption wise.

i truly believe we can reach the 10.000$ mark. And i hope China will truly open up again. and the sites online that accept bitcoin will also multiply by 10.
personaly i dont know about the bitcoin ATM, but i think it is possible that we will see A LOT more of this, all over the world.

so what do you guys think?

I think the next run up will be more like the one from $1->$32 I think the last two run ups were just growth spurts. I read $40k in another post and I though that sounded pretty reasonable...

40k would be great. i just think for that to happen, we need more places that accepts them, so the average joe, can see a day to day use of them. and not just see them as something that will make them rich.

I think there use as a speculative vehicle will significantly outweigh their "intended use" for some time. I think this is an inevitable property of the way they are being introduced. There has to be a transfer of wealth (as an abstract concept, i.e. BTC have to become worth something in the minds of people) and for this to happen they must be valuable in terms of existing currency.

This establishment of value is what will drive infrastructure growth. I think its a symbiotic relationship. It seems to be progressing ok imho.

I think 2014 is going to be a good year.
All the signs are looking real good, like wallstreet money going in and overstock accepting. This is just the beginning.
Dont think we will do x50 again, maybe around x20.

Actually we need people to spend some bitcoins to stimulate the bitcoin economy. And I don't mean just buying Overstock items (where the bitcoins get transferred directly into dollars) but also buying from merchants who will actually store and use the bitcoins themselves. It is very important this evolves. It might sound like a ludicrous idea but perhaps creating a petition asking the top 1000 - 10,000 Bitcoin owners to go an a major publicised spending spree.

I think it is time for the big players to spend spend spend and everyone else to HODL!  Smiley

2014 should be a very good year for Bitcoin. Mainstream enterprise is starting to wake up to Bitcoin and even the general population in many places is becoming aware of its existence.

We are still at the very base of the s-curve of Bitcoin's adoption. It should start reaching the vertical stage after it hits 5 digits, perhaps later this year. Then watch out, it will really soar before saturation starts to squeeze growth.

This year is last call for early adopter status.

Bitcoin - $3000 (which imo is disappointing considering all the hype)
LTC - $150 (lots of room to grow imo)
Some random Alts - 50X growth... we just don't know which ones (maybe PPC)

I think in 2014, the market share of Visa & friends in the porn industry will drop to zero.
