A whole lot of you who posted above me apparently did not check the date this question was asked. What I can see from this is that the future is going to be bright than the present. The OP asked if we could ever see the price over $1200 again around 2015, and here we are 3 years later complaining of a drop in price around $6k. I hope some newbies can use this to strengthen their hope in the long term value of bitcoin.

someone pull this thread back up in 2020 for a good laugh.
We just did! And I am so amused that I am having a good smile and laugh at the same time, even though we are not in 2020 yet, which brings about a greater hope for the future. So, those asking if we can ever go above $20,000 again should have a good answer from this.

If yes, when?
it's hard to say, everyone is just speculating and hoping its value will come back to touch that number in the near future.
No one can give us here when literally price is unpredictable. Though value is down or not good this time I am hoping btc value can survive this hard times. However, speculating is not yet true until it hit to that price.

This is clearly a proof that bitcoin moves forward as time passes by and that its price is getting higher and higher. Dump may be frequent this past few months but we should not lose hope and faith that bitcoin will surpass this. Bitcoin started having a low price and it needed years before it reached its position now so we also need to give it time to recover.

It is okay to be worried because it is normal for us who are investing time, effort and money in earning cryptos and learning it but we shouldn't give up what we had started in here. Our market is known to be volatile and let's take that as an advantage for earning profit here.

We can't so sure that we see bitcoin in 1k price again because if that happen it's a big fall and all investor who buy in a highest price will be lose their profit. We hope that bitcoin will not down below 6k. If that happen many people will be panicking again.

We will never see $ 1,200. This is below the cost of mining. But the prices can be reduced to about $ 2000. Below this threshold will not be. I hope that bitcoin will not fall so low. The price of 10-12 thousand dollars is a more likely development. But now it's like a fairy tale. There will be no price increase before autumn. I think so.

They obviously missed their road as usual and post like blind man. It is funny though that we are here now before 2020 that calme asked to even pull the thread back for a good laugh. That was 3 years ago just like you have said, and we have gotten way past $1200, with no dream of even thinking of going back way low to that value and then here we are having a good laugh even with the present value which some people considered as a dip.

It is really a way to believe in the future of bitcoin and not just in the price but even in its development. I am not finding any possibilities for bitcoin prices to test below $6000 levels. We are in rising trend in long term perspective hence if we test what was the peak of 2013 then it would be a result of some fundamental failure which is no way possible as per the bitcoin foundations.

Bitcoin will not drop to $1k dollar because there are a lot of people already who invest a huge amount today and the demand will increase even more ,so we can expect for the price to increase even more since cryptocurrency is very popular due to the volatility of the market.

It's almost impossible to say with the way things are currently. However if that should ever happen, it's still one man's loss and another's gain. This is what most regulators fear the most.

I do not think that bitcoins will go down to $1.2k dollars because people are still interested on investing in cryptocurrency but there is also a chance for the price to decrease if most of the people will believe on fund and they will sell all the coins they are holding.

Unfortunately, I think we will see the price between $ 1000 - 3000. According to technical analysis it will happen until the end of summer. Then we will see very slow uptrend or flat. Recovery will start only in the spring of the next year.

This year it will not happen to go back that kind of price you think. Possible to $5k but $1,200 no it will not happen again. This year bitcoin is more popular that 2015.
