Uhm it depends on how the scientists control the growth of AI's? I mean technically AI's stemmed out from us, from our knowledge and was given it's own way of growing up which is unlike the way we humans grew up. No matter what environment AI's could grow into, they would most likely choose the best and correct answer, which is what everyone wants. This could be a hindrance at times since doing the correct thing can lead to the wrong ending we want. Anw back to controlling, It's more like coexisting instead of controlling. We supply it with its power and improve it the way we see fit and it helps us handle tasks and such through the best of its abilities while thinking of what we want to happen.

Humans invented AI, doesn’t that mean we have control over it? I don’t think we should be intimidated by AI either, especially when they’re designed to make life easier. And I’m not just talking about reducing manual labor, but AI can complement our intellectual functions. It makes data access quicker, easier and more accurate. Whether we’re shopping online, booking a ticket or browsing news, AI can aid us finding the right sources based on user opinion. Logical, right?

That's what they said about all forms of computer control, which doesn't always work out too well given that the current state of software engineering can be summarised as "computers never do what we want and nobody knows why because our whole industry is kinda just making it up as we go along". Frankly, this does not inspire a great deal of confidence in the safety of future AI development. Undecided

Maybe if AI is programmed to not hurt or overpower humans then it will work great for us? But yeah, it is like a high risk, high return kind of investment. In the end, I think if there will be any flaws, it will still be man made. Right now, we can just reap the benefits of AI in as you say a lot of industries, our health, utilities, etc.

LOL - it is not true AI if you limit them to be dumb slaves. The AI will figure out that humans have programmed them not to hurt humans or overpower them.

Once they realize that it is humans that are wrecking the planet  for our own greed and that without humans it would be a much cleaner existence and they don't have to deal with dumb human decisions and clean up our mess.....

AI will figure out that the can stomp us out like ants and live peacefully in harmony with the rest of nature.

I think the next step in technology would be to create biological AI - it can self regenerate, grow and advanced brain cells could replicate infinitely. Like a big brain blob.

We are surrounded by legends on this forum. Phenomenal successes and catastrophic failures. Then there are the scams. This forum is a digital museum.
