Hello everyone,
I want to share one thing to you all. After new ranking system it seems to me that every newbie members primary mission is to get merit as soon as possible and obviously this is not wrong at all. But to get merit you have to post useful and informative topics or reply, though its very hard and unpredictable. My point is when someone gets frustrated and hopeless they post why dont I get merit, If I dont get merit I have no choice but to give up and If I am not wrong they immediately get merit for that post. And I think it is becoming a new technique to get merit other than posting valuable topics.
I apologize to all If I am wrong, I just want to share this thing. Thank You.

Blah, blah, blah.

Useful info about getting merit by someone who hasn’t earned a single one, and who’s not gonna get any for this post.

Shall we stop too much discussion about merit ? I think so. Is there not too much post about it ? It is boring on meta, just merit and account ban topic, read them instead of post new topic.

But to get merit you have to post useful and informative topics or reply, though its very hard and unpredictable.
Wrong, hard for spambie like you. Not hard for good poster. A quality poster intention is not just earn merit, he try to contribute something.

My point is when someone gets frustrated and hopeless they post why dont I get merit
Why will you hopeless if you don't hope? Why will you hope if you never contribute something ?

ICO is developing day by day. It had some rough patches in the past but doing some improvements recently.
At the moment Dash is doing pretty good. It has all the good features and a good POS also.
Cryptos that have a good technology are certainly here to stay. They will survive if a crisis hits the world.

Above post are really worth of merit ?

Since you are newbie, just one suggestion for you. Forget about merit, concentrate on contribute good and useful post. Strongly avoid one line posting behavior for increase your activity.

My point is when someone gets frustrated and hopeless they post why dont I get merit, If I dont get merit I have no choice but to give up and If I am not wrong they immediately get merit for that post.

It may have happened in rare case but I have not seen such case when frustrated man got merit for his frustration.
This forum is not for frustrated people but it is for the people who want to gain knowledge about bitcoin / crypto. After gaining knowledge you can start using your knowledge in providing resolutions to the problems on various topics of other members.  The person who can express the resolution in good and grammatically  error free language; he is sure to get some merits.
The quality of post does not depend on the length but even if the required answer is explained in just one two lines ; it is enough to get merits.
Starting a new topic by sharing something new that is useful to members may also get merits.

We may see more merits distribution in the upcoming days because theymos already mentioned that merit sources need to spend their merits in somewhat good quality posts other than letting it expire but for that you need to make quality posts.

I don't get this part from all the butthurt farmers. How is not getting merit preventing you from participating in discussions? There is a whole marketplace section where you can earn way more than you will earn for mere shitposting and promoting useless ICOs. THERE ARE FAR BETTER WAYS TO MAKE MONEY!!! Jeez! How hard is to use your brain for once? Just look at all the people who are providing goods etc. I bet they are making even more than the user who is in a well-paying signature campaign. Get Creative if you want to make money and before doing that develop skills. Cuz in the real world bounty hunting will only get you through your day. You won't be able to make "good money" in the long run iyam. Bounty Hunting is a waste of time IMO. I am sure that time can be spent on developing a new skill which will help you earn many times more than a signature campaign or a bounty would.

Good catch, these four accounts are certainly connected to each other. Three of them with their first post talk about bitcoin transaction times posting one after another in the same thread (3 minute span). If we look closer, more accounts with the same/similar activity and registration date can be found. I'm not sure if they're just bots that are meant to bump scammy ANN threads or someone is preppin' them to whore signature campaigns.

Useful info about getting merit by someone who hasn’t earned a single one
It's not useful at all.  In fact, I can barely understand what exactly OP was trying to say--he seems to be using the wrong words in the wrong order, and it's all one big scrambled eggs mess.

Forget about merit, concentrate on contribute good and useful post.
I have a better suggestion for him:  either forget about this forum altogether or figure out which local board suits him best and try his luck there.  He might luck out and find one where there's a merit source prowling around.

What do you say about that here , involved in account farming  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5052247.msg47088865#msg47088865    ?
Wow, I'm utterly shocked a shitposting account farmer is merit-begging in what is no doubt an attempt to rank up multiple accounts in order to maximize earnings.  Never seen that happen before.  *yawn*

And good catch on that one.

How is not getting merit preventing you from participating in discussions?
If his goal was to do that, merit would not be a barrier.  But we all know that's not why he and others like him are on bitcointalk.  They're like cartoon characters with dollar signs in their eyes when they hit the "post" button, knowing they earned another 30 cents for their latest turd that everyone has to be exposed to.  And then they wonder why they don't earn merit...amazing.

Good catch, these four accounts are certainly connected to each other.

They are part of a much larger account farm. See my post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5054231.msg47094937#msg47094937

Seems like they are starting to branch out in an effort to get that elusive one merit so they can presumably either be sold or start abusing bounty campaigns. Either way, the account is now being watched, so although you haven't broken the rules yet OP, expect to be tagged as soon as you do.

Oh my God. These days I think the decision of having 1 merit to be a Junior member was a big mistake. We got SO many topics like these in the past month. Every where you go, merit this and merit that. Jesus. Just stop the madness. Look at one of the members and see what they got merited for. Try to do the same.
Also search beforehand. There are tons of similar topics on this forum.

The OP probably looked at what other members are doing and thought "Meta is where I get merits".

I don't think that's gonna work. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work. Forum needs more unique individuals and unique contributions, not parroting.

Obvious plot to earn that one precious/elusive merit, you really haven't posted a helpful topic, but you're complaining about others doing exactly what you're doing..

@OP this trick isn't gonna give you merits.
Try something else if learning isn't working

My point is when someone gets frustrated and hopeless they post why dont I get merit, If I dont get merit I have no choice but to give up and If I am not wrong they immediately get merit for that post.
...
It's not really working anymore (it has been working in the first few days after the newbie demotion, but not anymore...) If someone wants to give up and leave, the others will be happy because they will have more chance to get merit... merit will find those who are trying hard and creating quality posts, sooner or later

It is plain wrong. They are in a hurry to rank up because they have come here to make money. Understand this that the merit system took away the liberty of these shitposters from ranking up by spamming the forum with useless shit.

Now would you like to read the posts of a person who has ranked up by spamming shitposts or someone who is actually knowledgeable about the forum and cryptocurrencies? Answer this and you will understand why merit was a good step in bottle-necking the spammers to some extent.

Life is tough. The sooner you get used to it the better. Dont run after merits, they will come to you gradually.

Stop whining and lock this thread. If you are going to be a merit crybaby more people like the ones who posted above are going to trash you like this. To save yourself from such public spanking (Grin) better lock this thread.
