Sure, they do have that right--but in this case, OP knows exactly what he did and wasn't asking what he did wrong. He was begging for mercy with a sob story, and other members need to explain to him that his ban isn't going to be lifted no matter what excuse he gives. If his neice's education was that important to pay for, he would have done well not to resort to content theft.
The reason he gave is commonly called an
excuse, which may or may not be true anyway and nobody has any way of verifying it. If it evokes sympathy in anyone here, you're likely being played for a sucker. It's good practice not to believe at least 75% of what you read on the internet, and that number skyrockets in situations like this when someone is trying not to lose his source of income from a "job" that he wasn't qualified to do anyway.
