Yes. And it means the birth of Bitcoin. The first time Bitcoin was created.

I think it is time to say: Happy birthday, Bitcoin. You have been 11 years and continues to exist among various good/bad issues about you. I believe you are unstoppable and will be there lasting.  Smiley

It was the beginning. 11 years have passed since then, and Bitcoin is now known worldwide. I believe there is a better future ahead for Bitcoin. From the beginning Bitcoin has to overcome from many issues to come to this place. We are grateful to Satoshi Nakamoto for allowing us to use  bitcoin. Many good wishes for bitcoin.

A BTCitcoin lover.  Cheesy

Possibly a good opportunity to point out here that a 'test' genesis block with a different hash existed in 'the early Bitcoin sources from November 16, 2008 - a few months before the current blockchain began.' ... See:

Fun fact: Satoshi took a mining break between the genesis block (block 0) that was mined in Jan 3, 2009 7:15:05 PM, which was later followed by the next block (block 1) 6 days later at Jan 9, 2009 3:54:25 AM.

It is probably a reference to the Biblical creation of the world, where God has created the world within 6 days.

he didn't take a break, the code was not released yet. genesis block was released on January 3rd and then the code was released on January 9th which was the start of the chain. i suppose it was probably because the news article (bailout of banks) that was referenced in genesis block came out on 3rd but code was not completely ready and it was too good to not be used to marker the beginning of bitcoin.

interesting theory about the reference though.

Code was already released to a select few via various mailing lists and likely contributed to by others. See my above post.

Yes. And it means the birth of Bitcoin. The first time Bitcoin was created.
Yeah you can say something like that and its the day when the creator of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto mined the O Block and still now its been a history for modern world bitcoin users. His creative invention have take us on this position where bitcoin is moving forward by increasing its global community.

Bitcoin. You have been 11 years and continues to exist among various good/bad issues about you. I believe you are unstoppable and will be there lasting.  Smiley
Bitcoin have already faced a lot of obstacles on its 11 year journey and many more will come in the near future but no doubt that it will survive like it did in the past. Modern civilization gonna take the highest advantage of most secure blockchain technology and bitcoin. I enjoy the moment when someone stand against the use of bitcoin and try to stop its pace of growth but they don't know that its unstoppable Cheesy .

It has been an incredible 11years of bitcoin. The majority of people who knew about it when it was at its infant stage never expected to would last this long, and I think no one expected it to get to its current price value and popularity.
Huge credits to Satoshi Nakamoto for making (what I like to refer to as) one of the greatest innovations of this century. A fully public and user-supported financial system would have been called a scam by most people. But with the integration of the blockchain, it has withstood the test of time.
Happy Anniversary!
