I'm trying to cancel my VISA Crypto.com debit card, but the platform makes the request hard or nearly impossible to be concluded. They give two alternatives: send request through email or through app's chat.
First, I tried through email. Sent a request, following their guidelines and waited 3 days until getting a reply asking for my 4 last phone number digits and 4 last ID digits, which were linked to the platform's account.
Did it on the next day, and waited more 4 days for another reply, asking me to spend the 0,33$ left on my debit card's balance first, before cancelling it.
Few hours later, I replied once again confirming and ordering the cancel, giving up on the left balance for crypto.com.
Then, 8 days have passed until I received a new reply from them:
Only nonsense and bullshit. I tried contact again twice after that, asking if the debit card was already cancelled or not, so after 7 days they replied asking for the same 4 last digits from phone number and ID.
Ok, I sent the digits asked on the next day, and 6 days later they replied me asking for the same 4 digits AGAIN!
I even tried arguing after that, but it didn't work, as they kept asking the 4 digits.
So, I appealed to the app's chat. Opened support and had to choose fixed alternatives as reply to the bot. It didn't give me the option to talk to someone real. And inside the category VISA card there wasn't any alternative which fit my request.
Then I had to take a long walk around it, justifying some technical bullshit issue in order to force the bot forward my request to a real attendant. Now I'm waiting for a reply, which accordingly to the platform takes up to 12 hours.
What I mean is, avoid this platform, so you don't have a lot of headaches with a poor and scammy service like this which prevent customers from having their requests met and solved. And if someone you know is a customer of them or thinking about becoming one, warn them.
