INNBC is the first blockchain project to bring traditional science to the blockchain. And we have done it to the highest standards, which means producing high-quality peer-reviewed publications. Science is not democratic. Anything that is not peer-reviewed would be considered “pseudoscience” and incompatible with the scientific method. Peer-review evaluates a study's validity, importance, and originality in order to serve as a filter and guarantee that only high-caliber research is published, especially in reputable journals. The scientific community will only accept as valid those results that have undergone peer-review and have been published in academic scientific journals.


The crypto industry eventually introduced the term "DeSci" (Decentralized Science) to describe projects implementing real-world use of blockchain technology in scientific research, which is what we have been doing already since 2018, long before this term was introduced. As the leading DeSci project, we wanted to set the blue-print for legitimate decentralized science, which means having our data, tools, and methods undergo rigorous peer-review.


Accordingly, after we issued the INNBC DApp, our DApp specifically designed to easily record and share biomedical data on the blockchain, we started to work on a scientific, peer-reviewed study documenting the DApp and its validity as a real-world tool for blockchain-based biomedical data storage. Given that it is the first study introducing the decentralization of the whole raw data and not just a hash of the data on the blockchain, in contrast with the previous tools, and given that peer-review is a very rigorous process, requiring us to address all the requests of the peer reviewers and journal editors, going through several revisions, it took us 3 years to complete the study and have it accepted for publication.


Finally, the study, entitled "INNBC DApp, a decentralized application to permanently store biomedical data on a modern, proof-of-stake (POS), blockchain such as BNB Smart Chain" was published on April 25, 2024, in the prestigious BioMedCentral journal "BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making", part of the Springer-Nature network, leading publisher of the world's most prestigious scientific journals, and is available online at:  https://doi.org/10.1186/s12911-024-02498-z


Several key figures in the blockchain industry have been cited in the study: CZ binance, Vitalik Buterin, Anndy Lian.


This study presents the first real-world implementation of Decentralized Science (DeSci), the first to be funded not by traditional funding mechanisms but by a digital crypto token such as INNBC (InnovativeBiorsearchCoin).
