They born with such talent that they can keep telling you lie continuously. They are cheaters and that's known to all. this is why nobody believe them. But when people are going to vote them, they won't find any hoesnt leader but full of cheaters and as people have to vote, they don't have any other choices except voting these liars. And thus these corrupted politicians get elected continuously.

They can tell a thousand lies just to get power. Then they pretend to be such good people that they don't hesitate to hang out with beggars. The lust for power is so ingrained in them that they do not hold their tongues to give false assurances of any work. Liars will be elected whether the people vote or not. Before the election they pretend to put a handful of food in your mouth with their own hands but when they are elected they will take away two handfuls of food from you.

Lies are most common among politicians they are born with this talent without lies politics will not survive. Such malicious rumours messages of false and fake information and audio video footage of fake events spread for political purposes have an effect on people's minds albeit temporarily. Voters who decide late or who are vacillating are mostly influenced by these campaigns.

It is looking like telling lies is the prerequisite of becoming a politician. As a matter of fact, there is a way you will tell lies that people will start suspecting you to be a politician.  How we get to this point in human history is what no one can explain. 
I don't know about your country but in my country, politicians buy over media empires to sell lies and propaganda to the public... I know this is not peculiar to my country. This may be the reason there is a growing distrust between the leaders and the followers.

But is politics supposed to really be about lies? Why is the polity dominating by propaganda?

Not only in your country but all over the world such politics have emerged, usually by funding the media that favors them. You may be surprised to hear that everything in the country where I live is unilaterally controlled by the government. Because the second or rival government is never given a chance, even if all the people of the country are agitating, this government does not mind it because all the agitations by its administration kill people, and the agitation pours hot water on the people due to which all the people are greatly affected and  Something dies. I have never seen such incidents that I have seen while living in my country, when they are circulated on social media, they are deleted immediately.
