I consider this 50:50, Saying no skill is needed, if you just slot randomly as long as you spin 100, 200 or whatever, maybe you will lose your balance more easily. Especially if you don't understand which is very volatile and which is lower volatile game. So, that means you still need skill. Slot games are based on luck and there is nothing we can do about it even though anyone tries to create rules or strategies to make them win frequently. This might work for the first time but after a while, such strategy or pattern will become less effective which is why it's understandable for one to play slot based on luck not skilled based. I know there are several YouTubers that would want to mislead prayers especially those that are very curious to make money from gambling without calculating or knowing what it entails. Disclaimer.... Slot games has never been invented or designed for skillful professional games but games of by which players can only win by chances which the mechanism that provides the game results is based random generation of the system.

You don't need to know what the future outcome will be and you don't even need to stress yourself on analysing or employing personal strategy (skills) but just free your mind and settle to make your decision without any skillful application.

Slot games are future games which are enjoyable when you are keeping a good bankroll with responsible gambling.
It is just designed to bring players quick outcome and also to checkout the grace or how lucky individual could be on making blind predictions.

Slot games are purely based on luck as it is clearly random with how every spin shows randomly and not because your skills. If it's possible to make it skill-base game then I don't think that ehe casino owners will likely do it as we know that people will most likely lose in slot games as your chances of winning doesn't increase no matter what you tried to increase your chances of winning. We can use strategy in slots  with how people manage each bet but it is still about your luck so I guess I would say that it cannot be made into skill-base game in my opinion.

Slots games are supposed to be based on luck and not to be depending on skills but there are some mathematicians that have studied the tendency of winning in slot games and have developed some strategies that they use in winning which actually worked for them until they were caught. I once read something about this some few years ago. I do not have any plans of opening my own casino or developing a slot game therefore I do not have any suggestions. I do not what slot games to be dependant on skills but I like the luck that it currently operates on. With luck and not skills, we have hope that one day our own luck is going to help us to win and the winning will not be favouring only those that have discovered the skills needed.

So wise of you to ask the question. But how much will you give if someone would share that kind of idea to you. I feel no problem is hard to find a solution if you are are you willing to give something in other to have it.

It is possible to make slot games skill based instead of luck based but that will take a lot of critical thinking, user survey approach and willingness to risk some cash to do user testing. I have been in the ui/ux industry for quite some time and I can tell how solutions are found but no one will be ready to give solid information like that for free.

I don't believe it is 50-50, i think it is just about luck, is there any skill to know if the next spin would yield you a certain multiplier, there is no way to know that. In sports or football betting, you can look at the league table or which player is injured, and that could help you predict your bet, however, in slots you just set your wager, spin and see what happens.

It's true. It's impossible. There is no such thing as strategy when it comes to slots. Might as well go to the flow and let it run, enjoy the images as they connect and maybe you will hit a good multiplier at some point.

Now about the question. I think first thing I will do as a slot provider is to take out that low amount winnings at free spins. It's called free spins for a reason, they are not cheap when bought so the result should at least be near the bought amount or over it. So far, based from my personal, real-life experiences, slot games purely depend on luck and chances. You just push the button. The only skill you need is to be able to press a button. All strategies how to win are fake. You can use some lifehacks may be. Like to stop the game after few wins in a row, or set some limits, but it is not a skill or strategy.
