How do I insert an images on this forum?

I will need help on btcrecover but first I will need help on inserting some images so I can get some help. If I take a screenshot from my computer, such as snip it, how do I paste it here on a post. I can see above the icon, "insert image" but I don't know what else to do. I tried pasting it between http:// and no luck.

Can you show me how to do it, so on my next post I can include images and that way I can help, so you guys can help me.

Host them to an image hosting provider and post the link: https://talkimg.com/

No need to use the [img] tags because you're not going to be able to embed them in your posts anyway (cause you're not jr member yet)

As @OmegaStarScream mentioned, you won't be able to upload it because you don't have the minimum user level required to post images, but you can use the link and if it's an interesting topic, another user who can share images and has the proper rank will upload it here in a comment so that it is visible to everyone easily and directly. Additionally, you can encapsulate lines of code using "Insert Code" for the commands you use and results from btcrecover as an alternative.

@OP, this is the quickest way for you to be able to post images. You can find details about Copper membership from here:

Otherwise, you will have to wait until you become a Jr. member, which will take about 30 activity points and 1 merit. It is going to take about 42 days for you to get enough activity to become a Jr. member, and you will have to earn 1 merit along with it.

If you think you can't buy Copper membership and also can't wait to reach that rank, you should upload your screenshots on https://talkimg.com/ and simply paste the link in your post for others to open it and see. We can even help you display the images by quoting your post once you do it.

Secondly you cannot directly upload any image here you have to host the image on an image hosting platform. then if that image [img] tag is posted here the link will be displayed here.

https://talkimg.com you can use this site for hosting a image and after upload any image on this site you will get a link with BB code just copy and paste that link on your post where you want to post a image

As explained in the replies above, that's the reason why you couldn't do it because your account is still restricted to post an image but as many have demand, theymos then made some changes which is mentioned by Alone055 that newbies can now pay a fee to remove the restriction if you dont want to wait for your account ranked up to jr. member. Anyway, you can ask someone that isn't newbie to quote the post you made that includes the bbcode [img].

However, if everything is too complicated for you or for any reason you cannot or do not want to pay copper membership, and at the same time you have something very important (at least for you) to explain with the help of images, just post a post, one of the senior members will respond and make your images visible.

Also, some image links do not work. In that case, use Talkimg or some other free image hosting service that is compatible.

Newbie can post image link, but it is only not displayed in posts.

If another forum member is at higher rank and can display image, quoting that post will help visually display the attached image.
Another way to see image posted by a newbie member, is to visit his post history, all images will be shown in Post History.

Do some posts that have merit and you will likely earn merits.  Which, in time, will enable you to post images here.

IIRC certain sections won't permit you to do certain things you might ordinarily be able to do in other sections of the forum.

Well, I think you have already get the answer to your question, because as a newbie you can only post image links. But however, just like as philipma have said since you have already gotten 3 merit now just continue doing post so that it'll enable you rank up to jr member because is only from jr member up that is allowed to post images in this Bitcointalk forum.

Information was given above, you luckily got 3 merits from phillipma and now you only need to keep posting and wait for enough time to reach 30 activities and rank up to Junior member, then you can post and display images.

You can click here on talkimg.com on your browser, agree to the terms and condition so you can have usable access, then proceed to upload your desired image from your device which the scammers image hosting service do only allows image sizes not more than 2.5MB based on the bitcointalk usability and it specially accepts images on PNG, GIF and in JPG formats.
So you can upload and copy your image link on  BBCode Full FixHHxW to enable better displays of image to the forum users.
Note, The talkimg.com image host has already automated maximum image at 2.5MB size for it users but you can resize your uploaded image in the link and then copy and paste link in the forum.
Preview after done to see your image displays before posting in to the public for error correction of accessment before posting but this feature is accessible when you're ranked above newbie member
