Yeah that's very correct, being devoted to a particular sports or sports club is a plus to sports bettors when making their bets cause it would give them more ideas on what to do, I have a sister who's a Chelsea fan, she always follow up their matches on a regular and it made her to start betting on them, not the regular betting option like her preferred team to win but she bets on players to score, how many goals a particular Chelsea player might score, how many cards bookings a particular player might get. If she wasn't a fan of Chelsea FC and often follow them up, I don't think she would've known which player to pick concerning those betting options so you're right.

I have gotten to like boxing as well as football, thanks to gambling.

Before I started getting involved with gambling and signature campaigns here on Bitcointalk (which is basically the main reason why I found an interest in gambling in the first place) I was neither a gambling nor a sports fan. Except maybe during massive events like the football world championship, for example.

You cannot really gamble on sports without having an eye on who does what and which team is the best/worst and any changes that happen. You have to keep an eye on what is happening or you will put bad bets on the wrong people and lose money.

It does make sense but it doesn't happen very often. People may get motivated through different ways, and this is just one of it

This type of interest would mostly fade away with time, cause there's something that distinguishes a gambler from an ordinary spectator -- the losses! Not everyone wants to lose their hard-earned money because they made a wrong choice, some would try to steal the opportunity to prove their guts, but when they lose, that's it!

Come off that! Not everything is tied to gambling. If I have genuine interest in football to watch for fun, that doesn't mean I'll develop an interest in gambling in the future.

It might happen to others, but it seems opposite to me because I loved sports first before I went into sports betting. Well, in this case, it is likely to say that gambling influences people to become sports fans. And soon, they don't just watch sports to gamble but for the sake of entertainment and fun. Something that was a good influence indeed. However, self-control is necessary, and we don't have to urge ourselves to gamble because we are sports lovers.

I see your point as it was the opposite since you already know and understand the game and to adds up for additional enjoyment you added some bets while watching, I don't know but we can't conclude that it's a same set up to other gambler as chances to love the game might happen even the intentions is fully for gambling, but when watching you soon see yourself supporting it even you are not placing any bets.
