That's why it occurs to me that if there's a newly endorsed medication or drugs, one should not take them without conducting proper research, as there are always side effects we must consider.  Only in tested and trusted medicines.

You are right that there are side effects of any drug and we can't know absolutely all of them. I am already surprised how big the papers with the text of side effects are in almost any drug that I buy in the pharmacy, but it is understandable because they want to protect themselves from responsibility. Because anyone who takes them can blame them for not specifying it. I can't fully understand your conclusion. How is it that "we don't know what harms us?" Do you not know the obvious? Anything you use without measure will always be harmful; you shouldn't even think about it. No one will take a medicine that is not prescribed to them, and if they start, it will naturally only harm them. Even with those warnings that the OP talks about, can a person with Parkinson's disease, while taking the drug, suddenly discover gambling and quickly become an addicted gambler? For some reason, I think that a patient with this disease is worried enough about the presence of their already obvious symptoms to add another problem to themselves. Now, the problem with this study from 2014! is this:

Design, Setting, and Participants  We conducted a retrospective disproportionality analysis based on the 2.7 million serious domestic and foreign adverse drug event reports from 2003 to 2012 extracted from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System.

Results  We identified 1580 events indicating impulse control disorders from the United States and 21 other countries:710 fordopamine receptor agonist drugs and 870 for other drugs.

So , bottom line!

Out of 2.7 million adverse results!!!!, so this is only the adverse results, not the ones taking it (close to 6 million people in the United states alone each year), they have identified 1580 events, that's 0.06% rate of impulse control disorder, and out of those 1580 they magaed to foudn 600 gamblign issues, so that's 0.02% in case of adverse results.

Oh wait....

Mr Moore and Dr Glenmullen have been consultant or expert witnesses in civil and criminal litigation involving many psychiatric drugs and psychiatric adverse drug effects.

If we are already taking certain medications such as Parkinson's then gambling, sex and alcohol will be complementary parts and this often happens because of the many people who try to see a psychiatrist are generally influenced by one of them. An important lesson that we must learn is never to try to consume drugs or alcohol because the impact is much greater.

Anyway, it's not just the drugs. Even alcoholic beverages can fuel a person to compulsive gambling. I remember it happened to me before. Drunk and too brave to deposit more money, and chasing my losses. After I experienced that, I never gambled again after a drink.

You maybe right there. This kind of medicine may trigger gambling addiction but I believe you will only put yourself into deep gambling addiction once you also allow yourself to consistently fall on the trap of gambling. True addiction develops from your own actions and wrong decision making, and not by a medication that comes with side effect like making you a compulsive gambler.
