lot of faucets are listed here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=212.0

i don't know if any of them are good or not though

faucets died because the tx fee got too high imo

...

there's 'mayocoin' & 'banano' they tip out these coins almost every day for helpful posts

and they do giveaways and contests too on reddit

but these coins have almost no value as of now Smiley

That's the issue. Most faucets give rewards on cryptocurrencies with little or no value. Toally not worth your time and effort. Still, they're a great way to help introduce newbies into the world of crypto.

I guess airdrops have now taken faucets' place. They usually give better rewards, but at the cost of increased network participation or making an initial investment. I've seen developers ramp up airdrop requirements with the purpose of curbing down abuse by airdrop hunters/farmers. Faucets, are much more flexible. Anyone can start earning crypto out of nothing. I guess the "good old days" ain't coming back anytime soon. We'll see what happens in the long run.

Some faucets still exist, and Some new ones come with good rewards , because they are new.

You can search for autoearntop in google to find the most updated list

Many people overlook faucets, but now they have value because they are used to run incentivized testnets. Since not all faucets are easy to obtain, especially when hunting for testnet airdrops, some sellers who are already regulars now also provide crypto faucets. Prices vary, and as you know, claiming a faucet is limited to once every 24 hours, and the amount is very small. Therefore, if you want to mine testnet airdrops, you have to buy them.
Those who were diligent in claiming faucets in the past can now generate profits.

"Incentivized testnets"? Aren't testnet coins worthless? I fail to see how testnet faucets have any value. If I'm not mistaken, testnet blockchains go through a period of reset by the developers. So all balances in testnet coins would be lost forever. But mainnet faucets built on highly-scalable cryptocurrencies? That's another subject. Especially coins with zero fees and near-instant confirmation times (such as Nano, Constellation, HIVE, Steem, etc). Faucet owners can giveaway coins without dealing with the burden of high network fees.

As for slow and expensive chains (eg: Bitcoin, Ethereum), switching to an L2 network seems like the obvious choice. But with airdrops and bounties taking over crypto land, don't expect faucets to take off anytime soon. I'm afraid the good-old days will never make a comeback. At least, faucets were fun while they lasted.

Altquick is indeed 'tiny.' But it goes like clockwork.

I just checked: if you hit the 42-coin faucet a dozen times, you can place an order.

But if you hit the CLAM faucet over and over, you could gain some traction.

PS 'Aren't testnet coins worthless? I fail to see how testnet faucets have any value.'

Altquick has lively BTC<>tBTC3 and ~BTC4 pairs.

It depends on what your definition of a "good" faucet is, though.
Also, it is important to understand something: in general, faucets are not non-profits organizations, there are setup with the purpose to generate money.
Usually it works this way:
A webpage is set for people to claim a relatively small amount of cryptocurrency every hour, if the amount is "reasonable" enough, then traffick towards the website will naturally increase because all people love free money. However, since the traffick of the website has skyrocketed, the owner can start to charge serious money for advertising spaces and also featuring links towards other services in his faucet; generating more money than it is spent towards the people claiming a free cents per hour.

It is a business, not a charity and as any other business it orbits around the idea of making money as fast as possible.

Good to know. And I'm glad to see CLAM still has a faucet. A very old coin that was often used for gambling. There's a max supply of 20m coins, yet market prices are low because of reduced popularity.

I will try the "testnet BTC" trick, though. I'm sure the rewards aren't that much, but at least it's better something than nothing. Cheesy

I understand it's somewhat-challenging to set up a faucet these days. Ad revenue alone is not enough to help keep up with the faucet's operational costs. Especially if traffic is low. Unless you're someone wealthy and have money to spare, you'd be wasting your time. I guess that's why faucets are scarce.

I'd say airdrops and bounties are the next big thing. The only downside, is that you either need to participate or make an initial investment to start earning rewards. Everything has a "catch". At least, not all faucets are gone. We should enjoy them while they last.

Faucets used to be better in the early days of Bitcoin because there was not a spirit of making it a business, you know. Those who set up faucets just wanted to increase awareness about Bitcoin without seeking to make money out of it. Nowadays, Bitcoin is widespread and there are so many people aware of it and it's value, that the only reason to have a faucet and keep it up would be to turn it into a business. In short, the advertising renevue the webmaster of the faucet gets needs to be higher than the total of withdrawals and the costs of maintenance.
That means users are always going to have a very poor yield for their time and heavy restrictions to take their money to one of their addresses.

I have never come across a faucet service anymore. I mean, I will even do some work like captcha or typing, but I have not seen any available ones. I think the last time I did faucet was with an online casino, and it was only once your balance is zero. It's like a freebie to place a bet, but also just once every 24 hours. You cannot get one when you have a balance.

I would also be glad if some services would offer some faucet again in exchange for a tiny job. It will probably be fun too, reminiscing about the old times.

Besides airdrops and bounties, ad companies' restrictions had a profound effect over faucets' longevity. We all know how Google used to prevent faucet operators from using their AdSense service. Without a source of revenue, owners had no choice but to shutdown their service. Finding a faucet that was managed as a "charity" instead of a business was something of a rarity. Now it's even worse. I hope that the few faucets that are left, would still be alive in the future. I mean, how would newcomers "get a taste" of crypto if they're required to spend some money (try before you buy)?

Faucets allow you to experiment with crypto for free. Airdrops, while highly-rewarding, usually require some initial investment or frequent participation in projects to be able to qualify for them. It's why I believe faucets are better. Who knows? Maybe they'll make a comeback. The future is unpredictable, so anything's possible.

If you fan of DOGE, try out wowdoge.xyz. It’s not exactly a faucet, more like a daily DOGE price guess game.

Bestchange still operates a BTC faucet, if you didn't know. It's at the bottom of the main page under the "BTC faucet" tab.

I tried several times to consistently claim it, but I simply forgot about it. So I never cashed out lol. The minimum withdrawal requirement is quite low; I think it can take no more than 2 weeks if you consecutively claim at least 10 times daily, just to prove their legitimacy.
