I remember seeing a thread started by dogie... It had a timer and then it went to sh*t. Any updates on 3rd gen?

Well, you could always go to http://avalon-asics.com and look for yourself.  But in the event that you're unable to do so for whatever reason, the answer is:  Chip sales have launched.  They're also still listing their grossly inefficient Gen2 Miner for way too much money.

3 modules. each modules 35pcs avalon3 chip

so better to buy s2 basically xD or is forma factor smaller, or is it cheaper?

I think s1 and s2 are based on avalon chips. What matters is price for ready to mine product
However that is what I think and bit,main will never admit it. The power draw will be equal it is just a guess Wink
