Reminder: read before starting a thread

Starting a thread no bad but e come be like everyone just one start start thread without reading especially newbie, how you one grow without reading and learning.
There is no competition in starting thread, many thread way dey here no get any special use or need, some newbies wey never even reach a week go just start one thread throwing advice, how you one advice when yourself never learn.

Some newbies go create thread them no go even finish reading through the reply on that thread they don start more.

Na better thing you talk bro, I personally assume or pressume say the reason why several users on this forum, especially newbies dey rush go start thread na for nothing else but their visibility and account growth, most of them dey assume say as them they make comments on other people's posts or threads, their account and activity/opinions no dey visible enough, so e go dey hard for other users to find and send them merit which na something they need to grow and rank up, this na one of the major reasons why most of them dey always rush dey create thread even when wetin they bring up as discussion on the thread no make any sense.

My one advice to all newbies go be say make them no the dey desperate to earn merit, and to rank up, all of this things no dey come over night, on the Norm, e dey take years of hard work and dedication, commitment, any body wey serious go surely achieve him or her goals but patience is also very important.

You made a very important point because there are allot of threads that are been created especially from newbies that someone especially has already created. There is no need of creating a thread that someone has already created on the forum, newbies should not be too quick to grow on the forum but should take time and learn the fundamentals of the forum and what Bitcoin is all about because, that is the secret to growing on the forum.

I have been noticing the trend for quite some time now. I wonder if they even attempt to use the search engine to know if the topic they want to create already exists; they just create unnecessary topics that should serve as a contribution or discussion for already existing ones, which does not make any sense.  A few days ago, I saw a thread on the meta thread created by a newbie, and a reputable member had to sound a warning to the newbie because the newbie created a thread for issues that had long been discussed, and this means that the newbie is not ready to read and learn, and that is the problem.

This na one big issues wey dey here because everybody go wan start their thread thinking say na there e dey happened, another thing i see here be say them think say na person wey start topic naim get merit, so them dey always want to start their topic so that them fit dey also received their merits as well. But to be sincere, starting topic no mean say na there them go get merits but na just to share your idea and bring contribution across the board but on the case wey be your post no bring something meaningful or worth discussing them go lock such topic. I dey also tell some people to calm down read post and them fit get merits through commenting on what others has said on their thread instead of them to rush to go make topic e no go  make sense at all.

I believe some feels that creating new thread would earn them merits, which in most cases have been proven true.

Many newbies don't want to understand how the forum work but rush to earning merits.

We have many thread on the local board but some have little or no discussion and everyday new ones are being created. Though this isn't much a problem as it shows how active the local board has become.

It is a big problem because how can you be creating thread without anything to learn from it, creating meaningful threads make the local board more active than having threat that are not educative.

I think in this aspect is better we have educative topics being created everyday then having unnecessary topics, chasing of merit is their aim, if they could go round the forum they will see some of the big guys are having more merit in their replies than the threat they created, so it's better the should focus on bringing good things to the forum and merit will start coming.
