Anyone noticed the new captcha? Looks way better than the old one

I have been away from home, so I decided to access the forum with a foreign device and I was met with a new type of captcha. It's simple and fun and I think I like it. I was given plenty of revolving star images and one still star image to identify the still star image and I easily passed the verification.

So, is the essence of captcha not security related because it is simple for anyone (including bots) to answer the question. Maybe it will be difficult for bots but I don't have a good idea how it works.

I have specifically noticed that change as well, at first It was like did any thing happened to the forum or is it another April fool stuff that usually being posted by theymos.
But after days I kept seeing same captcha then I had to realized that it is something that has been implemented to the forum.

I much prefer this new captcha, way easier to complete the task which means a faster login, I
know it's just a matter of seconds but when logging in on different machines throughout the week
it makes a difference - every little helps

Maybe it's only me but I prefer Google's reCaptcha over this new hCaptcha. This new captcha is annoying, it's not hard, it's very easy but somehow tasks are stupid. What I liked about Google's reCaptcha was that after solving it for a few times in my life, I rarely had to solve it again. As I understand, it's principle was that if you solved it for a few times successfully, it was saving your device as a trustworthy one and wasn't annoying you anymore. Is this the thing with hCaptcha? Can anyone confirm?
Anyways, not a big deal when we keep in mind that we can be logged in infinitely on Bitcointalk.
