The long-term potential of Bitcoin has not changed.  When will people start looking past the short-term issues?

Once you've panic sold.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

When they've raised enough funds to pay their taxes (and fees if they've delayed until now.)  I predict that if the price continues to decline and hold at relatively low levels, and lot of people are going to lose more of their hoard than they had hoped.  However, a continued decline into the two digit levels could be another 'late 2011 style' opportunity to do OK even if one is late to the party.

We're also looking at several fairly large blocks of liquidity which have yet to make it to market.  One is owned by the U.S. govt complements of silk road and probably other sources.  The other is whatever came of Mt. Gox's stash.  A third, now that I think of it, is Satoshi's stash.  And the Winklevoss stash for that matter.  Should any one of these come to market we could easily see significant further price erosion.  If we see several at once we could have a genuine collapse.  There may well be enough interest to absorb a fair chunk of it though.  Hard to know.

2011 bear market lasted about 163 days. If it will be similar to this, this bear market will end mid-May.

Good and positive news will start rolling in sometime in May/June. By summer, we should be on our way to an ATH.

stupid stupid bear market, stupid.

At the end of last year many cool new projects were pre announced. I have always had the feeling that behind the curtains hard core bitcoin infrastructure development is taking place, soon these projects should be complete and we will see a wave of good news. I remember these hardware wallets for example. Also, I suspect that soon some big company will announce that they accept bitcoin because it has been a while since something like that happened. if I remember correctly, overstock was the latest.

Ya, but it was almost 2 YEARS before the prices exceeded the 2011 highs.  Someone who bought at those highs had that long to wait before they even broke even (though is wasn't much longer before they were 'shitting in high cotton'.)  How many people who bought since Dec last year are going to have the patience to hold out that long?

Actually, a fair number of them might.  I'll bet that a great deal of the most recent bubble buying was by people with actual money.  To such people two years is not very long at all, and they can enjoy pretty much any creature comfort they want without much effort anyway.  Back in 2011 I'll bet that the market was skewed more toward the crowd that has much less patience and live more of a subsistence economic lifestyle.

Everybody and they mom thought 400 would be the bottom (or maybe that 380 still will be) -- that should tell you somethin. The bulls still have so much hope ... we might just see a slow, painful deflation like 2011
