I have been pool mining Megacoin for a while with six computers with gpus. Also using my CPUs which are 8 core times 2 - 2.4ghz i7s. No slouches for CPUs. I tend to get a slight boost in accepts mining pools including the CPUs. I am now solo mining. Have all my gpus pointing to my wallet but left the CPUs on the pool. Does this make sense?  Any value to moving my CPUs to my solo mining initiatives instead?  I do not paying for the power so no need to educate on the lack of value using CPUs vs power costs for CPU mining Smiley

Thanks.

It's useless to use CPU for script coin solo mining, use CPU at pool or mine CPU coin like PrimeCoin at pool or solo.

It's optimal to side-mine scrypt on GPU and XPM on CPU at the same time. You can leave one CPU core free so your scrypt miner is not overloaded.

If you don't want to bother with solo primecoin mining just point your CPU miner at ypool.net or beeeeer.com pool

Just mine YAC, CPR or QRK with your CPU. Mining XPM can also work if you believe it has a good future.

You can also try Research Support Coin for solo CPU mining: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=566608.0
