I’m always on the hunt for the most profitable altcoin to mine. Recently I was shocked to realize that I’m getting the most profit from the coin that doesn’t even use a computer to mine. This is the coin of “Lets Talk Bitcoin” and you mine it through “Proof of participation”. Basically you just post in ltb forums, leave comments, argue with people, you do the same what you would on bitcointalk, but you are getting paid for it in LTBcoins and you’re paid a lot.

Example:
Last week I’ve made maybe 10 posts in the forum (not even that much) and listened to podcast that counts as additional 5 forum posts.

I was paid 15900 LTBcoins at the end of the week.
I’ve sold them on the the exchange for 555 satoshi each = 0.088 BTC
This is insane! This is a way more then I got from my mining that week.

What is the difference between this and other pump and dumps ?  You're pumping a coin and the person pays you coins as a reward?  What am I missing in this equation ?

You can't really apply pump and dump to LTBcoin. The value of the coin comes from the fact that that's the only way to buy advertising slots on Let's Talk Bitcoin show. So the value of the coin will correlate with how valuable advertizing on the show is. You can't really pump the coin too much because advertizing has limited value, also you can't really dump the coin all the way to 0 because advertizing does not cost 0 also.

And Adam from "Let's Talk Bitcoin" is kind of the person you might trust, right?

Anyway whatever it is the coin is very profitable at the moment. Maybe it will change with the time once more people "mine" it, so coins are divided between more people. But at the moment the party goes on for "miners".

You are earning LTBcoins for each post you make on the ltb forums (see Step 3 in the Guide). Every Saturday Adam calculates the value by some complicated formula and send you coins to the address you created in Step 2 of the Guide.

I guess you're right. There is fixed amount of coins that will be distributed each week. The more people know about LTBcoin, the more people will take part in the distribution each week so less each gets. I guess it's same as with any other alt coin I mined before. In then beginning it's super profitable, but as time goes by more and more people start mining it so it's getting less and less profitable. I guess sooner or later all good things end.

I remember long time ago XPM cost about 0.007 BTC and I mined like 50 of them each week. Crazy times. I guess now the same is happening with LTBcoin.

I think Adam's "Proof of Participation" implementation is a pretty sound idea because it is kind of hard to game the creation of original material that is thought-provoking and not just suspicious of fraud.

Its also smart for him to only accept LTBcoin for his advertising because that gives it value, and in a way we want him to succeed because we want his airtime to be worth more money, basically.

Did you complete step 2 of Mining Guide? It's not enough to just register using the link, you need to complete both Step 1 and Step 2. Also you need to do activity described in Step 3, each activity on LTB earns coins.

Let me know if I should improve any steps of the guide if they are confusing.

I've been following (mining) LTBc for a few weeks now and mentally I have been thinking that the rewards programs are really addictive. I find myself posting on other forums or listening to podcasts and thinking that I shouldn't waste my time on communities that don't have mechanisms to reward the participants. Adam runs some promotion that the way it works you get a lot of LTBcoins specifically for the first 5 posts in the week.
