The Thinkpad has the best build and the fastest hard drive.  The processors are all similar in speed.

It depends on what you're looking for.  If you go for the ThinkPad Just make sure you can get by with only 60GB so of storage space.  A 128GB SSD will come with <100GB free and if you fill the SSD all the way up it will be slower than an HDD.
If you fill up the HDD all the way up it will be also slower. This point is pretty much invalid.

Thanks for the replies and insights.  I've found tons of good deals, the problem is I don't really want to deal with refurbished stuff so in the end I went with 3 g505s, even though they have a bios issue.

There is nothing wrong with refurbished. I've seen refurbished hardware last longer than new one. One of my laptops is a refurbished HP.

I didn't have too great experience with Lenovo. My laptop from Lenovo is the only one that ever had a problem (battery is partially broken).

The same happened with my Lenovo, the battery lasts 5 minutes now.  Cheesy

im currently looking for a laptop for school in the fall if anyone has any good recommendations it would help alot i would like someting like 15 in screen and i would be able to do just about anyting on but good price also. an will last me my whole time in college. 4 years thanks
