I have two of these because they looked great for four cards, especially watercooling and I thought the extra molex connector to add power to the pci slost would come in handy, but they are nothing but sucking for me right now. I wanted to build a 4x5970 water cooled rig with this board, but I can't even get four 5970's on air to work. i don't want to waste my time with water and end up draining the loop and all that BS.

Anyone getting 8 gpu's on these? 4 5970's or 6990's?

If so, are you using linux, windows, bamt, etc.

nf200 north bridge is likely your problem. Can't get the first pcie slot to boot proper with 5970 in it?
If so put a single gpu there and settle. Same issue I have with an ASUS P7P55 WS board.

What does the NF200 chip have to do with it Huh

putting a single in there is fine. I want to put two 6970's and two 6990's on there. So maybe I can put the 6970's on slots 1 and 3 and 6990's on 2 and 4 ?

they will all be under water.

I assume I will need to plug in the molex also to provide more juice to the pci lanes.

Hey slave, have you gotten four card on that board? or 6 gpus like I'm working on? Going to try BAMT because I think it uses the SDK 2.4 which is better on the 6 series. I also would like to use the latest ATI drivers and latest version of cgminer.

Is SDK 2.6 better?

I have one of these boards; currently running 4 GPUs on Windows 7 64bit. Will boot with 5 GPUs (have not tried 5 GPUs with a PCIE-16X in the first slot), but when I get into Windows it loads for a second then BSODs saying pagefault in non paged area, and points to an ati .dll file, although I don't remember which off the top of my head. Am looking to try Linux although I haven't got around to it yet, so that's not much help, sorry.

I'm curious to try and see if I can't get it to boot into Windows with a GPU in the first PCIe-x16.. I'll let you know. I'm using the latest 1503 BIOS, 12.2 preview drivers with bundled 2.6 SDK.

I have 7 gpu's running on the P55 using win7x64, 11.12 driver and 2.5sdk. Best to use 2.4/2.5, SDK 2.6 is for 7 series.

Everything I suspect. It's just a pcie splitter and doesn't play nice with dual gpu amd cards in the first slot.
Just my experience with one board. Also can't use 1x pcie slots on other nvidia based chipsets either as gpu's aren't recognized. Again just my experience.

I tired 2 GPUs in the first two PCIE-16x slots, and three GPUs in all of the PCIE-1X slots; Windows booted and stayed stable, but as soon as I tried to mine on all 5 GPUs, I got the same BSOD saying pagefault in non-paged area

Sounds like shitty AMD drivers. Try BAMT.

...I think I just got hard....just a little....LOL

What board model/manufacturer is this ? I am DESPERATELY searching for something that is 5+ GPU/Windows7 x64 - friendly.......

Could you please share your setup for that rig, including the use of any MODs (cable/pin mods etc) required to get the GPUs recognized ?

Thanks in advance,
bitlane.

From reading his post, it's a ASUS P7P55 WS board and he sets it up by putting a single gpu card in the x16 slot and dual gpu cards in the other 3 for 7 total.
