I just received 2 Gridseed 5-chip miners and I've been trying like hell for the last 3 hours to get them working without luck.
I'm using Windows 7 as my controller and I'm mining at clevermining

I ran Zadig, installed the WinUSB driver, and tried the CGMiner 3.7.2 Gridseed fork and kept getting "failed to initialize..."
I uninstalled the drivers, re-installed the devices, kept the STM32 Virtual COM port driver, and tried BFGMiner 4.0 and it didn't recognize any devices.
I tried one of the newer CPUminer forks and I never got any "YAY!" messages.

For the love of God can somebody please help me get these things running!!

Try uninstall all drivers
Unplug them all
Plug them all back in
Let windows get the drivers installed
Unplug them yet again
Plug them back in make sure there in device manager
Use zadig to change drivers
Unplug
Plug back in
Run cgminer.

If you want to test them then leave them on virtual com drivers and bitminter client should find them.

I discovered the problem, the STM32 drivers were not giving me com port numbers (i.e. Com 4, Com 5, etc.). I updated the virtual com port drivers and everything finally showed up, now they're working fine on the cpuminer fork.
