I know online wallets get a bad rep but blockchain.info is different than others as you keep control over your coins. Please make sure you set up 2 factor though.

is blockchain.info really safe to store your bitcoins in? I heard some storys about that its an open book, will it affect any of my bitcoins?

If so, what is an good alternative? Roll Eyes

They're one of the safer online wallets. But I'd advise you to store your Bitcoins in an address only you control. You're only controlling your Bitcoin if you're in possession of the private key of the addresses the Bitcoin are in. If someone else has the key, you're screwed! Get a wallet program for your computer! Or store them in a safe paper wallet for long term storage!
