Do something about it, instead of redirecting complaints to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=787267.0

If this is too much for you to handle, then maybe we should have more than one moderator...

He's redirecting you to that topic because he thinks whatever you reported isn't violating any forum rules or your report did not provide enough evidence, not because there isn't enough moderation staff.

I already nuked them

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.

Nope, I asked BadBear to do it, which he did.

I redirect to it because your situation is identical to dozens of others I handle everyday. It's forum policy - we do not moderate scams, FUD or accusations as long as they don't break other rules (spam, obvious trolling, etc.).

Regarding moderators, in fact, we do. Admins, global mods can fully moderate the alt section as well. Patrollers can moderate newbie posts in every section thus in the Alt. coin sections as well.

I would like to request that you look into this incident from the beginning:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=752841.80

page 5 for me [i have pages inverted, displaying the first post on the last page]

ugethit's initial problem is lack of PoD.

The thread was locked by the dev; and a new one was created: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=785507.0

ugethit1 showed up again, to proclaim the dev has not delivered on something that is as definitive as 'estimated time of arrival'

Ugethit's main account was banned for spreading malware - and is continuing his fud campaign on ugethit1

Have you tried appreciating the fact that we have an Altcoin forum moderator now?

Moderation on this board is very heavily limited and that's just the way I like it, they'll happily get spammers and people who post off topic trash for you but don't expect them to police and especially censor every little thing you disagree with, there are plenty of other forums that do that.

It's amazing how much you have people ranting on about free speech in the world but when they actually get true free speech they hate it.

I think my favorite complaint of all time was someone who refused to ignore others because it was "censorship" or "restricting their free speech" somehow, yet wanted them banned.

From what I've seen the information isn't baseless at first glance and is somewhat well worded and substantial enough to stay. The info that was easy to check seems correct (at least not misquoted) and  he doesn't seem to be trolling. That's as far as I have to go and as far as most mods go. If you feel this case was treated unfair, contact one of the global moderators or admins.

Regarding the malware ban, if you are sure he was banned for posting malware, send BadBear a message that you saw a person evading a ban.

Exactly.

I delete around a hundred of spam posts, move around a dozen threads, handle 20-30 reports and handle around 7-10 PM questions/situations/inquiries a day. So yeah, you could say I'm active.

Again I wish to request that we could have a technical section under the
alternative cryptocurrencies subforum. There are now many coins that are not
directly forked from Bitcoin as well as several security issues that may not be
relevant to Bitcoin but can affect altcoins.

Sometimes people post such topics under Bitcoin > Development & Technical Discussion and
the mods consign them to Alternative, where they get buried instantly because
of the high volume traffic.
