They are a company run by the Indian Gunda Mafia.

I warned some people but no one listen.

This might interest you.  I talked to the Citizens Advice Bureau again today. I updated them on the situation. They have flagged the case "criminal withholding of consumer rights" and passed it on to Trading Standards. They'll contact me in 5-10 working days if they decide the case has merit. Anyone who is NOT A BUSINESS and has or is having their refund, partially or fully withheld should contact them direct on 08454 040506 or fill out the form on their website

https://ssl.datamotion.com/form.aspx?co=3438&frm=citacomplainform&to=flare.fromforms

You need to complain if you want action taken. Don't just post on forums.

Some of us got together on the Cointerra forum and complained to the Better Business Bureau and they issued a warning to the press (http://www.latimes.com/business/technology/la-fi-tn-bbb-bitcoin-warning-20140605-story.html). Cointerra were getting slammed so hard they had to shut their forums down and guys who had been waiting months are finally getting refunded.

Just to be clear. If you are not a business customer you are entitled to a 100% REFUND UNDER UK LAW.

If you are unhappy with the refund situation contact the CAB and complain. Unlike the BBB, Trading Standards has the ability to bring criminal charges. They take this sort of thing very seriously in the UK.

You are completely right and thank you for the link!

Till now no response at all and I'm getting pissed. But one is for sure, I'll get my money back or I will have some fun and these guys get a lesson.

That was the only email address I had, no cancel button in April and sure Miss "customer@alpha-t.net" sits in LA and Miss "payments@alpha-t.net" sits in Bombay and couldn't forward my emails because of these totally different email standards or even respond "please send any emails for refunds at ...". Idiot!

Update:

payments@alpha-t.net is actually answering emails now. Here is their response to me even though I did request during the 5 month period. So I am back to square one. Any help is greatly appreciated guys. I do not see how they can call me a business, as I clearly am the only one who can do that.

Hello there,

We are very sorry but as per our cancellation policy it has been longer
than 5 months since you placed your order therefore you are no longer
eligible for a refund. We have been very clear and open with our terms
of order, it was released as a news update, it is easily available on
our website and you are urged to view it on the product page before you
order. Such regulations only apply to consumers and you are a business
customer with us. I can assure you that our legal matters are dealt with
by a leading law firm in the UK. Our terms of order are completely legal
in the UK. It was typed up by solicitors who specialize in this area of
law. They have advised us that all our customers will be legally classed
as businesses for many reasons, one being that the hardware we are
selling can only be used for mining cryptocurrencies which is a business
practice according to HMRC.

Best Regards,

Alpha Technology Team

Go here guys as this appears to be the most concise discussion on the topic. If you can help in any way, please do so.

You guys need to check out this page of the Alpha Technology thread.  You are entitled to 100% refunds per the distance selling regulations.  Alpha Technology made a vague interpretation of the law and a big mistake.  You are consumers and not businesses and entitled to full refunds not matter what Alpha Tech says.

Their excuse about mining being for businesses only is a lie. They either have armchair lawyers or none at all with a response like that
