Has anyone ever tried cooling their PC with a portable AC unit? The problem is I have a hot house and it is pointless running the central AC lower than 85F. If I managed to find a portable AC that didn't consume too much wattage, it wouldn't be a waste because it would help cool the house too... Thoughts?

I've used them quite a bit in overloaded datacenters while proper chillers were down or in the process of being added.

You will have 3 major concerns:

1) Power - The Smallest units will run on 110 but, the majority will require 230.
2) Condensation - Small units will have a jug that will need to be emptied regularly. Mid-size units typically also have trays but can generally be used with a pump without too much hassle. The big units typically have integrated pumps.
3) Exhaust - You're going to need a place to run the exhaust duct to. Typically, the unit will come with a few feet of duct, just enough to run up to a standard height ceiling. You'll need to head to home depot if you need more than that.
