Quote
The financing of terrorism in the territory of Ukraine is carried out not only by the cash coming from Russia, but also through attempts to make money through electronic systems [...] we will work to block cards and bitcoin accounts being used by the separatists.

It does kind of sound like they don't understand how bitcoin works...
How do they plan to crackdown on Separatist Bitcoin accounts? Yes, you can try to stop them at the fiat phases, but once it is bitcoin, you aren't going to stop it.

They can put local exchangers into the jail.

They are already putting everyone in jail, who voices an opinion different from the one official Washington/Kiev stance, be it grandmothers, independent journalists, or politicians who care for what becomes of Ukraine.

An equivalent of 64.7 million roubles donated so far (including 16.8 BTC on https://blockchain.info/address/1Bg55YPr6Hf3VqGT6rfYAgrHuyZqh3Q8ux ):
http://spasidonbass.ru/make-donations/
So cryptos is a very small portion of it.

Well I guess they can try Ip tracing
But that requires the help of Washington to trace the servers back and then geolocate the terminals
Not to find Bitcoin wallets per se but to target separtist PC's lol...

Palantir would be more efficient for that purpose.

It takes a few months time and millions of USD in funds to track a single user, who is using the TOR browser to mask his IP. At this point of time, I don't think that the Kiev junta has the necessary resources.

Separatist Bitcoin Accounts? Pro-Russians who are violating the Bitcoin ban of Russia?

I don't think there are any separatists using BTC.

Why would anyone use Bitcoin who wants their part of Ukraine to become part of a country that effectively outlaws Bitcoin? What am I missing? It doesn't make any sense. Of course they have to be insane if they want to be part of Russia, but that's another story.
