Wallets will be online 5 min. before launch(not password protected)
why not put in online 30 minutes before launch so the pool owners can get it compiled and installed and their stratums restarted and THEN release the nodes at launch...
seedcoin did that and it was great for everyone

I think you are missing the point. pool owners have to compile the wallet from source code for their linux boxes which takes a few minutes - then they have obtain a wallet address rom the compiled code, plug that address into their stratum servers (I have two) and then stop and re-start their stratum servers to connect to the new wallet, which takes more time.
the wallet is useless without nodes
and by the way: no one gets any advantage because no one has access to the block chain until the nodes are released.
Compiling source on intel i5 760 takes 2-2.5 minutes. I'm not a professional, but I have pool for my own usage based on coiniumserv. It takes me 5 seconds to start it.
Ocminer usually starts a pool in 2-3 minutes after source publication. After pool starting solo mining has no reason and owners of 2-5 GPUs have only chances to mine 1/2-1/4
of block in a day that will be usually worth then electricity. I think that giving 3-4 min for solo miners is not very big privilege.
