I don't think you're going to find anybody who is willing to sell you BTC using PayPal. Well, I'm sure you'll get at least a few PMs from brand-new users who will insist that you send PP first, using the excuse that "You're protected because if I don't send you the Bitcoin(s), you can always reverse payment." That's when you know for certain that you're dealing with a scammer who has no intention of sending you any coins at all.

Anyway, your best bet is to use a service like Coinbase or Circle.com to buy BTC. The fees are a lot lower than PayPal, that's for sure.

Sorry to read that. Anyone can be scammed, regardless of their rank. You need to use escrow and your judgement.
If he still doesn't respond in a while you need to post a scam accusation including all the proof you have (conversations, screen shots): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

There's something sinister and just-not-right about this "lost 280 bucks" line followed by a smiley face.

Some serious psychology methods used by some here. Creating the impression of being the "victim". Sympathy evokes a sense of trust and that trust could be a misplaced one.

Caveat venditor. (yes, bitcoin seller be aware!)

Why don't you post the proof ?
Paypal closed the dispute yeah..
Unfortunately, we are denying your claim because your purchase was for a

Why don't you answer the Phone ?
Believe me i will do my best to get my Money Back.

Just to summarize. The OP got scammed by SpreadBit for $280 via paypal. (OP was buying 1 BTC @ 280 from SpreadBit and SpreadBit received the paypal funds but never sent).

Finally the OP made a complaint to paypal and got the transaction reversed and also got SpreadBit's paypal account closed.

How do you (OP) know that SpreadBit has scammed at least 20 persons? Please post links.
