You guys are thowing down these huge freerolls every couple of days but I wonder if you'd get more traffic on your site (and more tables playing etc) by running small freerolls more often.  Like, sealswithclubs in the early days ran hourly freerolls.  What I imagine that would mean for you guys might be players with some new chips every hour looking to join a table.  Once there are tables constantly running, people will want to buy in to play at those tables.

This may have changed since I last checked in, but last time I looked there weren't any tables running at your site, just people waiting for the freeroll in a day or so.  Perhaps micro freerolls very frequently will get you some traffic to get things really started.

I actually really like this idea. You make a good point.

What were you thinking payout wise? Maybe something like hourly 5mBTC Freerolls?

If we do decide to do this we will probably have to do winner takes all since the payouts are so low.

Any additional suggestions on this topic?

Not so agree with the winner takes all rules, at least top 3 should be able to get some prize,so the payout structure could be 1st for 2.5 mBtc, 2nd for 1.5 mBtc, 3rd for 1 mBtc

The amount was indeed low but if this freerolls continue for every hour, you could get player to keep on playing in the site because freerolls could take more than 30 minutes for sure

Another Idea would be to make it $ payout like $5 freerolls for every hour or so

In my opinion hourly freerolls are not good for the players, they will not have time to take a rest  Grin

I think 5-10freerolls/day with higher prize is more attractive rather than hourly freeroll with only small prize.

Well you actually can have a rest by not participating it every hour but like 1x / 2 hours, the purposes for hourly freerolls is to actually gain a player than will keep on playing on the site consistently rather than players that only show up for daily freerolls and leave after the freerolls ended

Yes you are absolutely right, but what we need to remember is that the site also want to gain players in the ring games. So if the freerolls are only with small prize, the site need to wait so long time to get players play in ring games since their lowest buy-in ring games is about 40mBtc. Means that hourly freerolls with small prize is not profitable to the site.

CMIIWW Smiley

this is actually one of the hourly freerolls purposes, to gain up some amount of BTC and stack them up , t probably worth it, considering that with more hourly freerolls, different people might have some actual chance to win something
This is also to diversify some coins to several players rather than giving big chunk of coins rewards then it will be cashout immediately

By rewarding small amounts through hourly freerolls, more and more people will keep on collecting it and thus use it for some small stakes tables or small buy in tournaments rather than cashing it out immediately

It is very simple..,OP can make some requirements to withdraw the winning chip from freeroll.
Example: set the minimum withdraw higher for freeroll winning chips.

by making the withdrawal minimum to be higher amount this will actually surface a new problem as some people need to cash it out, but if you give up small amount for instance, people will be more encourage to spend it for another bet, most of them for sure will have some taste for the buy-in tournament

at first you don't want the winner to cashout immediately, but now you say people need to cashout.. Grin
but that's just an example lol..there are many other conditions to prevent immediate cashout.

But you need to keep in mind that their slogan is "HIGH STAKES HIGH REWARDS" , as long as they still use this slogan, it will hard to see small amount freeroll tournament as you want.

We are not saying you have to cash out immediately. That would not be good for us seeing how we want players to play on our ring games and other paid tournaments.

We just want to make sure players are aware to not "store" their funds for a long period of time in our system, as we are not a wallet service.

We have come to conclusion that to get started in this industry we will have to run smaller freerolls/tournaments to gain trust with our players. We still stand behind our slogan but will offer lower stakes tournaments/ring games for those that do not wish to play at higher stakes.

Absolutely this is why My suggestion of hourly freerolls, as with smaller reward , people will tend to play what he gain in the freerolls to accumulate more as smaller reward dont attract them to cash it out. It is in human nature , greedy, you cant deny it, but with huge reward, people will tend to cash them out immediately

Better to grow your site up step by step. You need to remember "big thing always start with small thing"

Ok, it should be misunderstanding/misinterpretation because of my bad English..
So sorry if my sentences make you feel uncomfortable  Wink
Yeap, the most important thing now is that OP has conclude that he will make hourly freeroll tournament & lower stakes ring games.

Thanks for the all the feedback everyone.

At this point we do not want to change the minimum deposit seeing how we do not recommend leaving funds in your BitcoinPoker.gg account for too long. Even though the funds are safe we do not want people to treat out service as a wallet.

Regarding the hourly freerolls. I think it would be best if we did the 5mBTC hourly and only paid the Top winner. Unfortunately with how low it is paying out the Top 3 would not really be beneficial.

We figured 5mBTC would be good because we do have a Sit & GO that has a buy-in of 5mBTC.

Cool, are you doing the hourlys then?  If so I'll try it out tonight after work!

Yes but I do not think we are going to start our hourly 5mBTC freerolls until our signature campaign starts, but this could change. I will let everyone know.

We are going to setup 1 more 200mBTC freeroll on Wednesday at 9:00AM EST. This will be for all of those that are unable to make the 7:00PM EST freerolls.

Oh, okay, still that's fun news.  I honestly expect that frequent, small freerolls whill get people gambling their winnings at your tables which is what you want in order to attract people to cash in their own money.  I don't want to cash into a site unless there's some action there for me.  Looking forward to it.

Is there a Tuesday afternoon one as well?  Or is the Wednesday morning one the next?

The free roll is for wednesday morning and the tuesday free roll is already over.

But 19:00 EDT for tuesday 7 april isn't here yet!  Sounds like there is no freeroll on Tuesday the 7th.  Smiley

I'm in Pacific time so I don't think I'm going to be playing poker at 4AM on Wednesday.   Good luck to you guys!

Aha, 9AM EDT (I assume you mean daylight time, not standard time, as that's what's currently in use in the Eastern TZ Smiley) is getting closer to wakeuptime out here in the Pacific.  But I think I still may have to miss this one.  Good luck to the others!

The easiest way to see what time the tournament is at is by looking at the countdown timer. That way you do not have to try to figure out different timezones. Smiley
